NORTH AUCKLAND ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Resolution Loan, 1948, £75,000
NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the North Auckland Electric-power Board held on the 10th day of February, 1949, the following resolution was passed :-
"In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the North Auckland Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :-
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of seventy-five thousand pounds (£75,000), authorized to be raised by the North Auckland Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electric energy for the benefit of the constituent districts of Hobson County, Whangarei County, Otamatea County, Dargaville Borough, and Hikurangi Town within the North Auckland Electric-power District, and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in particular, but without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect, and construct additions and extensions to the present system of electrical distribution and reticulation, to purchase plant, land, easements, general equipment, and any existing electrical installations and plant, to erect buildings, and to make provision for trading purposes as provided by the said Act, the said North Auckland Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-three one-hundredths of one penny (43/100d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the aforesaid constituent districts of Hobson County, Whangarei County, Otamatea County, Dargaville Borough, and Hikurangi Town, comprising the whole of the North Auckland Electric-power District as constituted prior to the inclusion therein of the Kamo Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 11th day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, land required for electric-power substation-site—and for the purposes of such public works the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in Bank Street, Whangarei, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of such land must state their objection in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Bank Street, Whangarei.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of parcels of land required to be taken : 10·6 perches. Being part Lot 5, D.P. 22818, being part Allotment 1, Parish of Whangarei. Situated in the Borough of Whangarei, Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, and coloured red on S.O. plan No. 35153.

OPUNAKE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and section 20 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1935, and the Opunake Electric-power Board Loan Conversion Order 1949, the Opunake Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :-
"That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the new securities authorized to be issued by the Opunake Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, the said Opunake Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound (¼d. in £) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within its electric-power district ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable half-yearly on the first day of September (1st September) and the first day of March (1st March) (or yearly on the first day of March) in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the first day of March (1st March), one thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine (1959), or until all such securities are fully paid off."
The common seal of the Opunake Electric-power Board was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the said Board in the presence of-
