Notice of Intention to Take Land in Blocks I, II, and VI, Whakamaru Survey District, for Road

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mangakino and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Approval of Sign of Class DA Smaller Than Standard for Use in Streets of Petone Borough

PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the erection by the Petone Borough Council of signs of Class DA, having dimensions 20 in. in height and 15½ in. in width, with a black line dividing the sign 7 in. from and parallel to the top of the sign and with the black lettering P approximately 6 in. in height and the other lettering approximately 2½ in. in height.

The Standards Act, 1941.—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification. D. 3001, Milk and Cream Cans

NOTICE is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand Standard Specification is now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is the 28th February, 1950.

All persons who may be affected by this specification once it has been declared a Standard Specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the draft and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with sub-section (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee Under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II (Unclaimed Lands)

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands) made due inquiry with respect to the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said lands, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent thereto ; and whereas the owner has not established his title to the said lands as required by that Act: I hereby give notice that the said lands are under and by virtue of that Act vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, the value of the lands for the purposes of section 76 (d) of that Act being less than five hundred pounds (£500).

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land containing 2 roods, more or less, situate in the Borough of Feilding, being part of subdivision “A,” Manchester Block, and Lot 502 on the plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Wellington as No. 19, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 5, folio 268, of the Register-book of the said office.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 22nd December, 1949, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
