THE following Special Order made by the Springs County Council
on the 17th day of November, 1949, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“THAT the Springs County Council, in pursuance of the powers
vested in it by section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, hereby
resolves, by way of special order, that Gorse (Ulex europaeus) and
Broom (Cytisus scoparius) be declared noxious weeds within the
County of Springs.”

NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Returning
Officer for the first election of the Te Awamutu Rabbit Board

have been duly elected as members of the said Board.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation
of Notice of Intention to Take Land
WHEREAS pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take, under Part II of the
said Act, the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy
of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33
on the 10th day of June, 1948, at page 715 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner objecting
to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed
with action to take the said lands:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
subsection (4) of section 25 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke
the notice of intention to take the said land.
SCHEDULE
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement ninety-nine
(99) acres three (3) roods and thirteen (13) perches, more or less,
situated in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District, being part
Section 26, District of Wairau West, and being all the land com-
prised in certificate of title, Vol. 30, folio 123 (limited as to parcels)
(Marlborough Registry), subject to right to construct, deepen,
widen, and clean channel, and to other rights for the purpose of
river-protection, created by Licence No. 15845, to the Lower Wairau
River Board.
As witness my hand this 30th day of November, 1949.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act 1943.—Notice
Declaring Lands Taken for the Settlement of Discharged
Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take, under Part II of the
said Act, the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a
copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 15 on the 10th day of March, 1949 at page 708 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner
prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said lands
and claiming the right to retain part of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice
of intention to take the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did agree to the retention
by the owner of the area specified in the said objection:
And whereas the owner did withdraw his objection to the
taking of the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee did on the 31st
day of August, 1949, make an order determining that the lands
described in the said Second Schedule are farm lands suitable or
adaptable for the settlement of discharged servicemen:
And whereas no appeal was made from the said Order within
the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time
allowed by the Court:
And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting-
date:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands
described in the said Second Schedule are taken for the settlement
of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 9th day of
December, 1949, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed
to be vested in His Majesty the King.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement three hundred
and twenty (320) acres, more or less, being Section 745, Block VII,
Mount Bonar Survey District, and being all of the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 10, folio 232 (Westland Registry).
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement thirty
(30) acres, more or less, being Section 2171, Block XIII, Kaniere
Survey District, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 10, folio 81 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
fifty (50) acres more or less, being Section 812, Block XIII, Kaniere
Survey District, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 11, folio 49 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement six
hundred and ninety-one (691) acres thirty-five (35) perches, more
or less, being Lot 3 on Deposited Plan 381, being part Section 1561,
Block I, Toaroha Survey District, and being all the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 23, folio 3 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
fifty (50) acres, more or less, being Section 721, Block II, Toaroha
Survey District, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 15, folio 293 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
forty-nine (49) acres, more or less, being Section 975, Block II,
Toaroha Survey District, and being all the land described in certificate
of title, Vol. 17, folio 276 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
sixty (60) acres, more or less, being Section 2137, Block II, Toaroha
Survey District, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 10, folio 208 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
three hundred and thirty-six (336) acres, more or less, being Section

five (75) acres three (3) roods thirty-six (36) perches, more or less,

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one
hundred (100) acres, more or less, being Section 810, Block II,

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one

Survey District, and being part of the land comprised in certificate
of title, Vol. 7, folio 210, Westland Registry, shown edged red on
S.O. Plan 4500, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Hokitika.
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
nineteen (19) acres and nine (9) perches, more or less, being part
Section 2138, Block II, Toaroha Survey District, and being part
of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 10, folio 209, West-
land Registry, shown edged red on S.O. Plan 4500, deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Hokitika.
