Appointment of Honorary Officer

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, Frederick Hackett, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint the person named in the following Schedule to be an Honorary Officer for the acclimatization district shown in such Schedule for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, such person to hold office until the 31st March, 1950.

to be Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court at Mosgiel for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1947, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court, Mosgiel, for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 16th day of November, 1949.

Ernest Arthur Gould

to be Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the Licensing District of Franklin for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, on and from the 28th day of November, 1949.

Edward John Gifford

to be the Deputy Controller-General of Prisons for the purposes of section 2A of the Prisons Amendment Act, 1919, on and from the 31st day of October, 1949.

Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Convention Order 1940

IT is hereby notified for general information that the country named British India in the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Convention Order 1940 will be considered as from the date of the coming into force of the Indian Independence Act, 1947 (Imp.)—i.e., 15th August, 1947—to have been the Dominions of India and Pakistan.

SPECIAL ORDER

“In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Kaikoura County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of Special Order that Gorse (Ulex Europaeus) and Broom (Cytisus Scoparius) are to be noxious weeds within the Kaikoura County.”
