Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Lawrence Samuel Dennis, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Manager at The Chateau, Tongariro, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 30th day of November, 1949.

Territorial Force—
Temp. Lieutenant R. J. Greenfield, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 3rd March, 1948, and is posted to the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.
Lieutenant A. M. Smith, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 10th October, 1946, and is posted to the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.
Temp. Lieutenant C. H. Wilson, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 13th March, 1947, and is posted to the 6th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.
2nd Lieutenant E. T. Simpson, from the Retired List, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st September, 1947, and is posted to the 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Territorial Force—
Temp. Major H. B. Capamagian, 1st Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. (Waikato), is transferred to the Hauraki Regiment. Dated 1st October, 1949.
Major F. W. Horton, E.D., 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 10th September, 1935. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Captain (temp. Major) J. N. Ward, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 26th March, 1942. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Major A. R. Wethey, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 13th October, 1944. Dated 10th November, 1949.
Lieutenant A. J. Parsons, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 17th July, 1947. Dated 10th November, 1949.
THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS
Territorial Force—
Temp. Captain J. P. Pickerill, 3rd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs, resigns his commission. Dated 27th September, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant A. G. Foster, 3rd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs, resigns his commission. Dated 19th October, 1949.

N.Z. Regiment—
Captain (temp. Major) C. S. Wroth is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Major. Dated 11th November, 1949.
Territorial Force—
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)—
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) G. McN. Gray, seconded to the Otahuhu College Cadets, is confirmed.
Kenneth Ramsay Buckley to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Northcote College Cadets, Area 1. Dated 18th January, 1949.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) K. R. Buckley, seconded to the Northcote College Cadets, is confirmed.
The Hauraki Regiment—
Temp. Major H. B. Capamagian, from the 1st Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. (Waikato), to be Major, with seniority from 16th July, 1942, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st October, 1949.
The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own)—
Captain (temp. Major) A. T. McL. Scott, E.D., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 22nd October, 1941. Dated 1st May, 1949.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment—
Captain H. P. Glen, E.D., ceases to be seconded to the Wairarapa College Cadets, and is transferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. Dated 1st October, 1949.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) B. Grinrod, seconded to the Napier Boys’ High School Cadets, is confirmed.
The Canterbury Regiment—
Temp. Captain G. P. Hodgson, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 25th March, 1944. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant B. K. Dawber, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 31st October, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant L. G. Parke, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 7th November, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant J. A. Masterton, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 8th November, 1949.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment—
Major A. H. Dickinson, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority from 7th October, 1946, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1948.
Captain H. P. Glen, E.D., from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be Captain, with seniority from 1st June, 1938, and is seconded to the Marlborough College Cadets. Dated 1st October, 1949.
John David Smith to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Marlborough College Cadets, Area 9. Dated 4th November, 1949.

Major A. Ross, M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Otago and Southland Regiment, to be Major, with seniority from 12th August, 1945, and is seconded to Headquarters, 3rd Infantry Brigade for duty as Brigade Major. Dated 15th July, 1949.
Captain (temp. Major) H. G. McQuade, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 20th February, 1941. Dated 1st May, 1949.
