In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter
of Geo. H. Scales, Limited, a duly incorporated company,
having its registered office at Wellington.
NOTICE is hereby given that an Order of the Supreme Court
of New Zealand, dated the 28th day of October, 1949, con-
firning the reduction of the capital of the above-named company
and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the
capital of the company as altered the several particulars required
by the above-mentioned Act was registered by the Registrar of
Companies on the 10th day of November, 1949.
The said minute is in the words and figures following :—
“ The capital of Geo. H. Scales, Limited, henceforth is £224,350
(divided into 9,975 preference shares of £1 each, 12,875 preference
‘B’ shares of £5 each, and 150,000 preference ‘C’ shares of £1
each), reduced from £250,000 (divided into 15,000 ordinary shares of
£1 each, 15,000 preference shares of £1 each, 14,000 preference ‘B’
shares of £5 each, and 150,000 preference ‘C’ shares of £1 each),
by reducing and cancelling the 15,000 ordinary shares of £1 each,
5,025 preference shares of £1 each (numbered 21,081–21,105 inclusive
and 25,001–30,000 inclusive) and 1,125 preference ‘B’ shares of
£5 each (numbered 37,036–38,160 inclusive). At the time of regis-
tration of this minute, 9,867 preference shares of £1 each had been
issued and the sum of 2s. 6d. had been and is to be deemed to be
paid up on each of the said shares; 9,683 preference ‘B’ shares
of £5 each had been issued and the sum of 10s. had been and is to
be deemed to be paid up on each of the said shares; and 109,306
preference ‘C’ shares had been issued and the sum of 2s. 6d. had
been and is to be deemed to be paid up on each of the said shares.
The remaining 108 preference shares, 3,192 preference ‘B’ shares
and 40,694 preference ‘C’ shares are unissued.”

1938, now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that
I intend applying on the 14th November, 1949, to have my
name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zea-
land; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification
in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

THE HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hutt Valley
Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £200,000 (known as Loan No. 8, 1949), autho-
rized to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board under
the above-mentioned Act, to provide additional moneys for the
further reticulation of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board’s
District, the said Hutt Valley Electric-power Board hereby makes
and levies a special rate of six-tenths of a penny (⁶⁄₁₀d.) in the pound
on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all rateable property of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District ;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day
of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully
paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Hutt Valley Electric-power Board on 17th November, 1949.
