THE following notices, received by the Right Hon. the Minister of Finance from the Chairman of the Western Waiheke Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

Causeway and Improvement to Road Alignment Loan 1949, £5,000
In pursuance of the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that the poll of ratepayers of the district taken on Wednesday, 26th October, 1949, on the proposal known as the “Causeway and Improvement to Road Alignment Loan 1949, £5,000” resulted as follows :—

I therefore declare the proposal to be rejected.

New Area Development Loan, 1949, £22,500
In pursuance of the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that the poll of ratepayers of the New Area Development Loan 1949 Special Rating Area taken on Wednesday, 26th October, 1949, on the proposal to raise a loan known as the “New Area Development Loan 1949, £22,500” resulted as follows :—

The Standards Act, 1941.—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications : Code of General By-laws
NOTICE is hereby given that the draft New Zealand Standard specifications appearing hereunder are now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is the 24th February, 1950.

D. 2820 Whirligigs and other Riding Devices.
D. 2822 Interpretations.
All persons who may be affected by these specifications once they have been declared standard specifications by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the drafts and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.
