Appointment of Customs Wharf at Wellington

Customs Department,
Wellington, 21st November, 1949.

I, WALTER NASH, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do by this Warrant appoint the wharf known as the Point Howard Wharf within the Port of Wellington to be a wharf for the lading and unlading of—

(a) Oil and motor-spirits, in bulk, and
(b) Goods which have been delivered from the control of the Customs.

Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in Block XV, Christchurch Survey District, for a Public School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Christchurch and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of additional land required to be taken: 6 acres 32 perches.
Being part Rural Section 138.

Situated in Block XV, Christchurch Survey District (Canterbury R.D.).

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 130240, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green, edged red.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 22nd day of November, 1949.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block I, Waimanu Survey District, for a Maori School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Maori School—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kakahi and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 5 acres 2 roods 20 perches.
Being part Taurewa 4 West D 1 Block.

Situated in Block I, Waimanu Survey District. (S.O. 21866.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 130274, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged blue.

Notice of Air Firing

IT is hereby notified that air to air gunnery will take place at periods in the area known as the “Ohakea Air to Air Firing Range,” being the area described in the Schedule hereunder. All aircraft using this area will be duly authorized for this purpose by the Commanding Officer, R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Ohakea.

SCHEDULE

THAT area situated between Wanganui and Patea and commencing at a point off the mouth of the Kai-iwi Stream and 5 miles out to sea on a bearing of lat. 39° 57′ 5″ S., long. 174° 51′ 0″ E.; thence on a bearing of 169° T. for 6·75 miles; thence on a bearing of 261° T. for a distance of 12·50 miles; thence on a bearing of 303° T. for a distance of 15·75 miles; thence on a bearing of 045° T. for a distance of 6·75 miles; thence on a bearing of 105° T. for a distance of 20 miles to the point of commencement.

Lyttelton Milk Delivery Notice 1949

PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Emergency Regulations 1945,* the Minister of Marketing doth hereby give notice as follows:—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Lyttelton Milk Delivery Notice 1949.
  2. This notice shall come into force on the Tuesday following the publication thereof in the Gazette.
  3. The Lyttelton Milk Delivery Notice 1948† is hereby revoked.
  4. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE

THE LYTTELTON MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1949

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires—

“Consumer” means a purchaser of milk for domestic consumption:
“Commercial user” means a purchaser of milk for purposes other than domestic consumption:
“The district” means the Borough of Lyttelton as indicated by zones marked on the plan:
“The plan” means the plan of the district deposited for the purposes of the scheme in the Head Office of the Marketing Department at Wellington under No. M.M.D. 14:
“Zone” means a zone of the district as marked on the plan:
“Milk” includes cream:
“Minister” means the Minister of Marketing.

(2) Deliveries of milk under contract to schools and public hospitals are excluded from this scheme.

(3) The names and addresses of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which and the persons to whom they may deliver milk are as follows:—

Name and Address of Vendor. Area and Consumer.
1. Forward and McLaughlan, London Street, Lyttelton In zone No. 1, as marked in yellow on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone; and in quantities of not less than one gallon per delivery to shipping and commercial users situated anywhere in the district.
2. C. Gilmore, Brenchley Road, Lyttelton In zone No. 2, as marked in red on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone.
3. Forward and McLaughlan, London Street, Lyttelton In zone No. 3, as marked in green on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone; and in quantities of not less than one gallon per delivery to shipping and commercial users situated anywhere in the district.
4. G. A. Smith, Hawkhurst Road, Lyttelton In zone No. 4, as marked in blue on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone.
5. G. Barnes, Voelas Road, Lyttelton In zone No. 5, as marked in black on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone; and in quantities of not less than one gallon per delivery to the following ships berthing at the Port of Lyttelton and to the following commercial users, namely—

(a) M.v. “Gael.”
(b) M.v. “Gale” (Canterbury Steam Shipping Company, Limited).
(c) M.v. “Breeze” (Canterbury Steam Shipping Company, Limited).
(d) M.v. “Storm” (Canterbury Steam Shipping Company, Limited).
(e) All ships of the Shell Company of New Zealand, Limited.
(f) Flannigan’s Milk Bar and Restaurant.
(g) Kreamy Milk Bar.
(h) Royal Hotel.
(i) Norwich Tea-rooms.
(j) Lyttelton Sea Scouts. |
| 6. G. Barnes, Voelas Road, Lyttelton | In zone No. 6, as marked in purple on the plan, in any quantity to consumers situated anywhere in the said zone. |

(4) Notwithstanding the provisions of clause (3) of this scheme, the vendor Forward and McLaughlan shall be at liberty at any time to become the supplier of the ships and the commercial users named or referred to in paragraph 5 of the said clause.
