JAMES HENRY WATSON, Returning Officer for the Eastern
Maori Electoral District, do hereby give notice that, more
than one candidate having been duly nominated for election as
member of Parliament for the said district, the poll will be taken
at the several polling-places of the said district on the 29th day of
November, 1949, being the date fixed by the writ.
Hours of polling are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Pharmacy Industry
J. E. Stanton, care of Jackson's Pharmacy, Otorohanga, has
applied for a licence to operate a new Pharmacy at Main Road,
Kerikeri, Northland.
A. E. Trappit, care of 181 Matson's Avenue, Papanui, Christ-
church, has applied for a licence to operate a new Pharmacy at
107 Wilson's Road, Christchurch S.E. 2.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Robert Ford and Co., Okarito Forks, South Westland, has
applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed at the Forks Hotel situated at the junction of Main Road
and Okarito Forks Road in South Westland.
Bessie Elaine Stein, Storekeeper, 98 Awapuni Road, Gisborne,
has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to
be installed at store premises situated at 98 Awapuni Road, Gisborne.
N. R. Kesha, General Store, Ngapuna, has applied for a licence
to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at store premises
situated at Ngapuna.
A. S. Neighbours, Storekeeper, corner of Ward Street and
McLean Street, Wallaceville, Upper Hutt, has applied for a licence
to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed in open yard
at store premises situated corner of Ward Street and McLean Street
Wallaceville, Upper Hutt.
J. F. O'Connor, Central Service Garage, Whatawhata, has
applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed at garage premises situated at Whatawhata.
J. W. C. Hughes, Mangamaire Store, Mangamaire, has applied
for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed
at store premises situated at Mangamaire.
H. E. Beale and C. Butterworth, Carriers and Contractors,
Putiki, Waiheke Island, have applied for a licence to resell motor-
sprit from one pump to be installed in open yard situated at
Putiki, Waiheke Island.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than 1st December, submit
any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
