HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments and relinquishments of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force :—

As Pilot—

4212616 Thomas Robin RABONE, on relinquishing his commission in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, is granted a short-service commission in the temporary rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from 7th May, 1946. Dated 4th January, 1949.

MEDICAL BRANCH
Appointment

1828 Joseph George HARKNESS, M.B., Ch.B., on relinquishing his commission in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, is granted an extended-service commission for a period of three years in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority as from 21st July, 1939. Dated 1st February, 1949.

Member of Invercargill Licensing Trust Appointed

George Francis Morison Stewart, Esquire,

to be a member of the Invercargill Licensing Trust for the residue of a term of four years expiring on the 29th day of April, 1952, the said George Francis Morison Stewart having been nominated by the Invercargill City Council for appointment in place of John Pickard, deceased, pursuant to section 4 of the Invercargill Licensing Trust Act, 1944.

THE following special order made by the Patea County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER

“That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Patea County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, as follows: That sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Council of the County of Patea, such order to take effect as from and including the 1st day of April, 1949.”

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.
