to be the Turakina Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at eight o’clock p.m. as the time when, and the Turakina Hall, Turakina, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Recreation Reserve in Wellington Land District Brought Under Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Turakina Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the sixteenth day of the same month at page 1532, Edwin Samuel Conroy Olsen, of Tryphena, Great Barrier Island, was licensed to occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Shoal Bay, Tryphena Harbour, Great Barrier Island, as a site for a jetty and shed :
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, as from the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight.

Revoking Appointment of Officer for Purposes of Food and Drugs Act, 1947

PURSUANT to the Food and Drugs Act, 1947, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrant of the twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty, published in the Gazette on the sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty, at page 1334, whereby Douglas Hopkins was appointed an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of February, 1949.

Officers Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Appointing the Registration Office for the Tauranga Branding Registration District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4596)

WHEREAS it is expedient that the place appointed to be the registration office for the Tauranga Branding Registration District, as defined by Warrant under the hand of the Governor-General dated the sixteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, be changed from the City of Hamilton, as set out in the said Warrant, to the Borough of Tauranga :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Stock Act, 1908, do hereby appoint the Borough of Tauranga to be the registration office for the Tauranga Branding Registration District, as defined in the said Warrant, in lieu of the City of Hamilton, being the place hitherto appointed as the registration office for the said district.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of February, 1949.

Land Permanently Reserved in the Wellington Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the thirteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes, for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
