NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of the above company will be held at the office of Claude W. Evans and Co., Public Accountants, T. and G. Buildings, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Monday, the 14th day of November, 1949, at 2.15 p.m. for the purpose of laying before it the liquidator’s account of the winding-up showing how the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of and of hearing from the liquidator any explanations thereof.

HOROWHENUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Horowhenua Electric-power Board Electric Reticulation Loan No. 4, £70,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling the Horowhenua Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Horowhenua Electric-power Board Electric Reticulation Loan No. 4, 1949, of £70,000 authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of further extending reticulation in the Board’s district, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Horowhenua Electric-power Board District, as defined in the Proclamation appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 100 of the 1st day of December, 1921, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was passed at the meeting of the Horowhenua Electric-power Board held on the 19th October, 1949.

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution

PURSUANT to section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, notice is hereby given that by means of an entry in the minute-book of British Pharmaceuticals, Limited, in accordance with section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, the following special resolution was duly passed on the 20th day of October, 1949 :—

“ 1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.

“ 2. That Mr. DAVID THOMPSON BARNETT, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator to the company.”

Notice to Creditors to Prove

THE liquidator of British Pharmaceuticals, Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 30th day of November, 1949, as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

  1. Receiving the liquidator’s account of receipts and payments and report on the winding-up of the company.

  2. The passing of an extraordinary resolution as to the disposal of the books and papers of the company.

LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and in the matter of a special loan of £1,170, authorized to be raised by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Lake for redeeming an existing loan.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in and conferred upon it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Lake County Council hereby, this 11th day of October, 1949, resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand one hundred and seventy pounds (£1,170) authorized to be raised by the Lake County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming at maturity the outstanding liability in respect of a portion amounting to £2,000 of the Lake County Council Bridging Loan 1938, of £4,500, the said Lake County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth (¹⁄₂₀) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Lake calculated on the basis of the capital value thereof, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”
