Air to Air Firing Range
Position : Kai Iwi River Entrance, lat. 39° 53′ S.; long. 174° 54′ E., (approx.).
Details : The area bounded by the following lines has been defined as an Air to Air firing range. Commencing in Lat. 39° 57′·5 S., long. 174° 51′·0 E.; thence 169° for 6·75 miles; thence 261° for 12·5 miles; thence 303° for 15·75 miles; thence 045° for 6·75 miles; thence 105° for 20 miles to the point of commencement.
Remarks : The pilot of the target towing aircraft is the officer designated and briefed as the range safety officer, and he is responsible for ensuring that the range is clear of shipping before he orders firing to take place.

Revoking the Motor-spirits Week-end Sales Restriction Notice 1947
PURSUANT to the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939* and the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939†, the Oil Fuel Controller hereby revokes the Motor-spirits Week-end Sales Restriction Notice 1947‡.
This notice shall come into force on the 31st day of October, 1949.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Land in the Otago Land District for Sale
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 21st October, 1949.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 28th November, 1949.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Tuesday, 29th November, 1949, at 2 o’clock p.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot, the purchase-price together with title fee.

SCHEDULE
TOWN OF OPHIR.—VINCENT COUNTY
SECTION 2, Block I, area, 1 rood. Purchase-price, £15.
The section is situated opposite the Ophir post-office, 1 mile from Omakau Railway-station, and was previously the site of the Ophir Athenæum building which has now been removed. Access is by metalled road from Omakau.
A terrace divides the section, and the back portion is approximately 6 ft. lower than the front. Otherwise the section is level.
Preference will be given to applications submitted by :—
(1) Ex-servicemen of World War II and the wives or widows of such ex-servicemen, and
(2) Persons desirous of erecting a permanent residence.
Any further particulars required may be obtained from the undersigned.
