THE COAL ACT, 1948

PUBLIC notice is given that the Coal Valuation Commission will, in accordance with the provisions of section 14 (1) (a) of the said Act, hold a meeting and will at such meeting adduce and hear evidence, submissions, and representations on all matters relevant to the determination of the “Global Sum.” The Commission will hold sittings at the places on the days and at the times hereinafter mentioned and will at each sitting deal with those matters which arise in or relate to the district or districts indicated.

Christchurch.—Provincial Chambers, Cambridge Terrace. Wednesday, 26th October, 1949, at 10 a.m. and succeeding days, as necessary. (Land Districts of Canterbury, Marlborough, Westland, and Nelson.)

I, HAROLD BEANLAND WALTON, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Town-planning Institute of New Zealand (Incorporated), is no longer carrying on operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Notice of Final Meeting

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of S. TEED AND COMPANY, LIMITED (in liquidation).

AN extraordinary meeting of shareholders will be held in the office of Messrs. Baily, Lovell, and Thomson, Public Accountants, Egmont Street, New Plymouth, on Tuesday, the 25th day of October, 1949, at 4 p.m.

Business—

  1. To receive the liquidator’s account of the winding-up of the company and his report and explanation of same.
  2. To consider, and if thought fit, pass the following extraordinary resolution :

"That, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 (b) of section 275 of the Companies Act, 1933, the books and papers of the company and of the liquidator shall be disposed of by their being left in the custody of the liquidator for a period of five years from this date and then destroyed."

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wairarapa Electric-power Board Reticulation Extension Loan 1949, £15,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling the Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal and interest and other charges on the Reticulation Extension Loan 1949, of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of further reticulating the Board’s district, the said Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fortieth of one penny (¹⁄₁₀d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairarapa Electric-power District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the above Board held on the 22nd day of September, 1949.
