Result of Poll for Proposed Loan

THE following notice, received by the Right Hon. the Minister of Finance from the Mayor of the Borough of Huntly, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF HUNTLY

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to Raise a Loan

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Huntly, taken on the 14th day of September, 1949, on the proposal of the Huntly Borough Council to borrow the sum of £118,900, for the installing of a sewerage system for the borough including the taking over of the existing State-owned system at Huntly West, acquiring of land, and all engineering and incidental expenses, £91,100, and the extension and improvement of the existing water-works of the Borough of Huntly including the acquiring of land and the erection of a dwelling and all engineering and incidental expenses, £27,800—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 140
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 75

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

The Standards Act, 1941.—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications.—D. 2812–D. 2815 : Code of General By-laws

NOTICE is hereby given that the draft New Zealand Standard Specifications appearing hereunder are now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is the 16th December, 1949.

D. 2812: Removal of Refuse.
D. 2813: Cemeteries.
D. 2814: Abattoirs.
D. 2815: Water Collection Areas.

All persons who may be affected by these specifications once they have been declared Standard Specifications by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the drafts and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Pharmacy Industry

F. L. Harrison, 141 Palmerston Street, Westport, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Main Street, Granity.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

K. E. Hogan, corner of Great South Road and Taka Street, Takanini, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at the corner of Great South Road and Taka Street, Takanini.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 20th October, 1949, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Land in the Otago Land District Acquired for a Permanent State Forest

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act, 1921–22, for the purposes of a permanent State forest.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY

All that area in the Otago Land District, Bruce County, containing by admeasurement 145 acres 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, being Sections 16 and 17, Block VIII, Clarendon Survey District, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title Vol. 186, folio 228 (Otago Registry). As the same is delineated on plan No. 215/14, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Otago plan S.O. 323.)
