Redefining Boundaries of the Town District of Otorohanga, the County of Otorohanga, and the Honikiwi and Mangaorongo Ridings of the County of Otorohanga

CONSEQUENT on the issue of an Order in Council dated the 22nd day of December, 1948, and published in Gazette No. 67 of the 23rd day of December, 1948, at page 1596, altering the boundaries of the Town District of Otorohanga as on and from the 1st day of April, 1949, by the inclusion therein of a certain area previously contained in the County of Otorohanga, it is hereby notified for general information that the boundaries of the Town District of Otorohanga previously described in Gazette No. 6 of the 31st day of January, 1935, at page 121, became those set out in the First Schedule hereto, that the boundaries of the County of Otorohanga previously described in Gazette No. 26 of the 29th day of April, 1926, at page 1097, became those set out in the Second Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of the Honikiwi and Mangaorongo Ridings of the County of Otorohanga previously described in Gazette No. 32 of the 20th day of April, 1922, at page 1193, became those respectively set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN DISTRICT OF OTOROHANGA

ALL that area of approximately 560 acres in Block IV, Orahiri Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waipa River at its junction with the south-eastern boundary of Otorohanga E No. 3c Block, and running easterly generally along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the said block, to and along the south-eastern side of the private road intersecting Otorohanga E No. 4b Block, and shown on Maori Land Plan numbered 7821, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, to the western side of a public road; thence along the western side of that road to the southern boundary of Otorohanga F No. 2a 2 Block, and along a right line across the said road, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of another part of the said F No. 2a 2 Block and the eastern boundary of Otorohanga F No. 2b 2 Block, to and along the southern boundary of Otorohanga N. No. 2b 2 Block, to and along the western and southern boundary of Otorohanga C No. 2b 2a Block to the western side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence south-westerly along the western side of the said railway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on plan numbered 29570, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being parts of Otorohanga B No. 2 Nos. 3a and 3b Blocks; thence again easterly generally along a right line across the said railway, to and along the said southern boundary and along another right line, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 4 shown on the said plan 29570, being parts of the said Nos. 3a and 3b Blocks, to and along the northern side of the No. 8 (Auckland–Wellington) State Highway to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 1 shown on the plan numbered 31964, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Otorohanga No. 1f 4b Block; thence southerly generally along a right line across the said highway, to and along the said western boundary and along another right line, being that boundary produced, across the Rangiatea Road to its south-western side; thence westerly generally along that south-western side, to and along the western boundary of the Gravel Reserve shown on plan numbered 20077, lodged as aforesaid, to and down the right bank of the Waipa River to the Railway Reserve near the railway bridge; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of the said railway reserve to the south-western side of Kanawa Street; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of that street to the north-western side of the aforesaid railway reserve; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the said railway reserve to the right bank of the Waipa River aforesaid; again westerly and northerly along the right bank of that river, to and across the old river course, along the right bank of the new course which forms the southern boundary of the Orahiri Y No. 3 Block, to and across the old course, and again along the right bank of the river to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF OTOROHANGA

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 6, Block III, Pirongia Survey District, and running easterly generally along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 6, to and along the western boundary of Section 14 of Block VII of the said Survey District, along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section 23 of the said Block VII, and along the eastern boundary of Section 24 of Block VII aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of Section 7 and the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 4 and the eastern boundary of Section 2, the aforesaid sections being of Block III, Pirongia Survey District aforesaid, to the southern boundary of part Allotment 365, Pirongia Parish, as shown on the plan numbered 9307, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence again easterly generally along the southern boundary of the said part Allotment 365, to and along the southern boundary of Allotments 306 and 329, Pirongia Parish aforesaid, to and down the middle of the Mangauika Stream, and up the middle of the Waipa River to a point in Block XII, Pirongia Survey District, in line with the southern boundary of Kakepuku No. 9b 1a Block; thence along a right line, to and along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Kakepuku No. 9b 1a Block and the southern boundaries of Kakepuku Nos. 9b 2d 1, 9b 2c 1, and 9b 4d 1a Blocks and Lot 4, as shown on the plan numbered 16585 deposited as aforesaid, being part of Kakepuku 9b 5, No. 1 Block, to the western side of the Ouruwhero Road; thence along a right line across the said road, to and along the southern boundary of Part Kakepuku No. 9b 5, No. 1 Block aforesaid, along the southern boundary of Lots 2 and 3, as shown on the plan numbered 23897 deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Kakepuku 9b 5 No. 1 Block aforesaid and 9b 5 No. 2 Block to the southernmost corner of the said Lot 3; thence along a right line passing through Lot 10, as shown on the plan numbered 23042 deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Kakepuku 9b, No. 2 and Ouruwhero 3e, No. 2 Blocks, and Section 10, Block IX, Puniu Survey District, to the western corner of a former Section 3 of the said Block IX; thence along another right line passing through the aforesaid Section 10 and Section 11 of Block IX aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 15110 deposited as aforesaid, being part of Section 4 of the aforesaid Block IX, along the southern boundary of the other part of Section 4 and Sections 5 and 6 of Block IX, Puniu Survey District aforesaid, along the southern boundaries of Lot 3 as shown on the plan numbered 13852, deposited as aforesaid, along the generally western and southern boundaries of part Section 1 Block X, Puniu Survey District, as shown on the plan numbered 22692 deposited as aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of another part of the aforesaid Section 1, to and along the western side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to a point in line with the southern boundary of another part of the aforesaid Section 1; thence along a right line across the said railway, to and along the aforesaid southern boundary, along the southern side and the eastern end of a public road, along the eastern boundary of another part of the aforesaid Section 1, to and along the southern boundaries of part Ouruwhero No. 3u 2 Block and Lot 2 as shown on the plan numbered 27311 deposited as aforesaid, being part of Ouruwhero Nos. 3u 1 and 3u 2 Blocks, along the south-western boundary of part Section 3, Block X, Puniu Survey District, aforesaid, and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Tokanui No. C 2b Block to the northern corner of Tokanui No. C 11 Block; thence along a right line across Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 4924 deposited as aforesaid, to the north-western corner of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 34009 deposited as aforesaid, both lots being part of Tokanui C, No. 4 Block; thence along the northern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the said plan numbered 34009 and along a right line across the Great South Road, being that boundary produced to its eastern side; thence along the said eastern side, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 24431 deposited as aforesaid, being part of Tokanui A Block, and along a right line to a point in Block XI, Puniu Survey District, in the middle of the Puniu River, at its confluence with the Moerika Stream; thence south-easterly up the middle of the aforesaid Puniu River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 20102, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Wharepuhanga No. 14b Block; thence along a right line to and along the south-western boundary aforesaid, along the south-western boundaries of Sections 4, 7, 40, 53, 49, and 44, along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 46, along the abutment of a public road, the south-eastern boundaries of Section 45, and part Section 3, a right line across a public road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 15, the aforesaid Sections being all of Block II, Wharepapa Survey District, along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block III, Wharepapa Survey District, a right line across a public road, to and along the southern boundary of Section 11 of the aforesaid Block III, and along a right line across Section 1, Block IV, Wharepapa Survey District, to and along the northern boundary of Section 10 of the aforesaid Block IV, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Waikato River; thence generally southerly up the middle of the Waikato River, to and up the middle of the Waipapa River, to and up the middle of the Waiteti Stream, to its approximate source in Block XI, Ranginui Survey District, at Peg CXXX, as shown on plan numbered 20946 (2), lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland; thence south-westerly along a right line, bearing 209° 13′ distant 7767·2 links; thence south-easterly along right lines bearing 169° 44′ distant 10266·5 links, bearing 169° 05′ distant 3508·2 links, as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 20946 (2), to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Maraeroa A 3b No. 2 Block, to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with a right line between Trig. Station No. 1641, Rangitoto, in Block IV, Pakaumanu Survey District, and the source of the Ongarue River; thence generally north-westerly along the said right line to its intersection in Block XIV, Ranginui Survey District, with the south-eastern boundary of Rangitoto A No. 31b Block; thence north-easterly and again north-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A, No. 31b Block aforesaid, to and along the generally north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A, No. 31a and 32a Blocks, to and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A, No. 32b, No. 2 Block, and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Rangitoto A, No. 33 Block, to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Rangitoto A, No. 34a Block, and along a right line, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 8021, deposited as aforesaid, to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 2 as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 8021, both the aforesaid lots being parts of Rangitoto 36b Block, and along the southern and western boundaries of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 7232 deposited as aforesaid, being part of Rangitoto A, No. 40 Block, along the western boundary of Lot 2 as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 7232, being part of Rangitoto A, No. 28 Block, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Rangitoto A, No. 30b Block, to the eastern boundary of Rangitoto A, No. 49b 2 Block; thence southerly generally along the said eastern boundary, to and along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Part Rangitoto A, No. 60b Block, to and along the southern boundary of Rangitoto A, No. 67b 1a Block, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Waipa River; thence again north-westerly generally down the middle of the aforesaid river, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rangitoto A, No. 41 Block; thence along a right line, to and along the southern, eastern,
