Officer Authorized to Attest Signatures of Maoris to Instruments of Alienation

PURSUANT to section two hundred and sixty-eight of the Maori Land Act, 1931, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that
Robert Reremai Keepa, Welfare Officer, Taumarunui,
being an officer in the service of the Crown, is authorized to attest, in accordance with the provision of the said section two hundred and sixty-eight, the signature of Maoris to instruments of alienation of Maori land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 29th day of September, 1949.

PURSUANT to section five hundred and forty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that
Robert Reremai Keepa, Welfare Officer, Taumarunui,
being an officer in the service of the Crown, is authorized to attest, in accordance with the provisions of the said section five hundred and forty-seven, the signatures of Maoris to instruments by way of security within the meaning of the Chattels Transfer Act, 1924.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 29th day of September, 1949.

Increasing Number of Days on Which Charges May be Made for Admission to the Taumarunui and Rangaroa Domain

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty-three of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby increase the number of days which may be prescribed by the Taumarunui and Rangaroa Domain Board as days upon which charges may be made, pursuant to section twenty-one of the said Act, for admission to the domain described in the Schedule hereto, or to any part thereof set apart for a particular purpose, from twenty days to thirty days during the year ending the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifty.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-TAUMARUNUI AND RANGAROA DOMAIN
ALL those areas in the Taumarunui Borough and the Taumarunui County, situated in Block I, Piopiolea Survey District, and Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing by admeasurement a total of 179 acres 3 roods 33.6 perches, more or less, being Sections 3, 16, and 58, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District; Section 1, Block X, Taumarunui Maori Township; Section 11 and part Section 9, Block V, Village of Rangaroa; and Section 12, Block VI, Village of Rangaroa.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of October, 1949.

Notice of Intention to Issue an Order in Council Revoking the Reservation for Recreation Purposes Over a Reserve in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, Canterbury Land District

WHEREAS by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may, from time to time, by Order in Council, revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown or in any local authority, or trustees deriving title from the Crown, become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1948:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for recreation purposes but is not required for that purpose, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection one (b) of section seven of the said Act declaring that the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be revoked.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 25.7 perches, more or less, being Reserve 4526, and being also described as Lot 3l on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 13546, being part of Rural Section 459. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 25/832B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 30th day of September, 1949.

Revoking Appointment of Trustees for Mahurangi Cemetery

WHEREAS by a certain Warrant of the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and six, published in the Gazette on the twenty-second day of March of the same year at page 843, His Excellency the Governor-General, pursuant to section forty-five of the Cemeteries Act, 1882, appointed the Warkworth Road Board to be trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the Mahurangi Public Cemetery :
And whereas by a special order pursuant to section thirty of the Counties Act, 1920, made on the eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the Gazette on the ninth day of August of the same year at page 2190, the Warkworth Road District was merged in the County of Rodney and the said Warkworth Road Board was abolished :
And whereas by virtue of section thirty-two of the Counties Act, 1920, all functions, powers, rights, and duties theretofore vested in or imposed upon the said Warkworth Road Board thereupon became vested in or imposed upon the Rodney County Council:
And whereas the land comprised in the said Mahurangi Public Cemetery is now no longer required for cemetery purposes :
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the said Warrant of the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and six.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 29th day of September, 1949.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

PURSUANT to subsection five of section six of the Visiting Forces Act, 1939, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following order :โ
The Air Forces of New Zealand serving as part of the Far Eastern Air Forces are hereby declared for the purposes of the abovementioned section six to be serving together and acting in combination with the naval, military, and air Forces of His Majesty raised in the United Kingdom.
As witness the hand of His Excellency, the Governor-General of New Zealand, this 28th day of September, 1949.
