MISCELLANEOUS GENERAL DIVISION SALARY SCALES--continued

(b) Shorthand-typists who pass the Special Examination will be paid an allowance at the rate of £10 per annum, provided their scale salary does not exceed £325 per annum, and provided they are employed on shorthand-typing duties of a standard consistent with their examination qualifications--this is to be in addition to the £15 allowance referred to in (a) above.

(c) The allowances payable for the Advanced and Special Examinations will be subject to periodical review, and in the event of the work not being up to the standard required the allowances will be discontinued. They will also cease when an officer's salary exceeds £325 per annum.

(d) Junior machinists are appointed at a salary of £150 per annum, and receive an increment to £175 per annum on passing a qualifying examination.

(e) Shorthand-typists who pass the Senior Shorthand-typing Examination and are not in receipt of a salary of £350 per annum will receive an increment to the next step of the scale on the first of the month following the examination--i.e., 1st July or 1st December--and a further step at the anniversary date.

(f) Shorthand-typists who pass the Junior Shorthand-typing Examination and are not in receipt of a salary of £325 per annum will receive an increment to the next step of the scale on the first of the month following the examination --i.e., 1st July or 1st December--and a further step at the anniversary date.
