Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED in Eketahuna County—

All that area at Alfredton consisting of those portions of roads hereinafter described :—

(i) Masterton–Weber, via Alfredton, main highway No. 816, commencing at point 2 chains measured along the said main highway in a northerly direction from its junction with the Eketahuna–Alfredton Main Highway No. 860, and terminating at a point 22 chains measured along the said main highway in a northerly direction from its junction with Castle Hill Road.

(ii) Castle Hill Road, commencing at its junction with the Masterton–Weber, via Alfredton, Main Highway No. 816, and terminating at a point 14 chains measured along the said road in an easterly direction from the said junction.

All that area at Waikari consisting of the Waikari–Waitohi Main Highway No. 143 known as Princess Street, commencing at a point 3 chains measured along the said main highway in a westerly direction from its junction with the Waipara–Kaikoura, via Culverden, Main Highway and terminating at a point 5 chains measured along the said main highway in an easterly direction from Loucey’s Bridge, a distance of approximately one and a half miles.

Social Security Act, 1938.—Notice Regarding Amendments to Prescription Prices in New Zealand Formulary

ADDENDUM, August, 1949, to the New Zealand Formulary :—

NEW ZEALAND FORMULARY, PART 2

The reference in this part of the New Zealand Formulary to the First Schedule to the Rules of Prescription Pricing shall, where applicable, be deemed to be to the Prescription Pricing Supplement 1949/5, issued by the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee. This amendment shall take effect with respect to all medical prescriptions and midwifery orders (whatever the date thereof) that are presented to a contractor for fulfilment on or after the 1st September, 1949.

Individual Valve-type Hearing Aids.—Notice of Approval of Additional Hearing Aids Under the Provisions of the Social Security (Hospital Benefits for Out-patients) Regulations 1947

PURSUANT to the provisions of Regulation 4 of the Social Security (Hospital Benefits for Outpatients) Regulations 1947, I, Mabel Bowden Howard, Minister of Health, give notice that I have approved of the following valve-type hearing aid for the purposes of these regulations :—

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Amendment of Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Ex-servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 27 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, the Minister of Lands gave notice declaring the land described in the First Schedule hereto to be taken under Part II of the said Act, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 23 on the 7th day of April, 1949, at page 886 :

And whereas an error was made in describing the said land in the said notice :

Now, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of subsection (j) of section 25 of the Acts Interpretation Act, 1924, the Minister of Lands doth hereby amend the said notice and doth hereby declare that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is taken in substitution for the land declared to be taken in the said notice.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block I, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and twenty (120) acres twenty (20) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 8137, being part of Hangawera Block and part of Section 1, Block I, Maungakawa Survey District, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 253, folio 55 (Auckland Registry), as the same is more particularly delineated on a plan numbered S.O. 34346, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block I, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred (100) acres two (2) roods thirty (30) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 8137, being part of Hangawera Block, and part of Section 1, Block I, Maungakawa Survey District, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 253, folio 55, (Auckland Registry), as the same is more particularly delineated on a plan numbered S.O. 34486, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and thereon edged red.
