Defining the Middle-line of a Road in Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of a road desired to be constructed over Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District, shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall affect only that land situated within the limits as defined on the plan marked P.W.D. 129756, referred to in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

COMMENCING at a point in Section 299, Hutt District, Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District, marked 0 miles 8 decimal 80 chains on the plan hereinafter referred to and proceeding thence in a north-westerly and then north-easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 48 chains and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., part Sections 299 and 298, Hutt District, Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District—and terminating at a point on the north-eastern boundary of the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 25A, folio 103, in the said Section 298, Hutt District, Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District, marked 0 miles 56 decimal 80 chains on the plan hereinafter referred to, including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and water-courses; all in the Wellington Land District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 129756, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 30th day of August, 1949.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the areas of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same are hereby, set apart for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 31st day of August, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection one of section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Aria Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE ARIA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District situate in the Waitomo County containing an area of 160,250 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the crossing of the Mangapehi Road and the Mokau River in Block II, Totoro Survey District; thence southerly by the western side of the aforementioned road to and across the Mangapehi Stream; thence south-easterly by the aforesaid Mangapehi Stream to the north-western corner of Section 3, Block I, Mapara Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 3 and by the northern boundary of Sections 2 and 7, Block IV, Mapara Survey District, to the intersection of the Pukerimu and Kopaki Roads, thence across the Kopaki Road and north-easterly by the aforesaid Kopaki Road to the south-western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 68G Block; thence south-easterly by the south-west boundaries of the aforesaid Rangitoto-Tuhua 68G Block and 68P Block, the aforesaid 68G Block, 68H Block, across intersecting roads to the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence to the south generally by the aforesaid North Island Main Trunk Railway to its intersection with the south-west boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 77B 2B 4D Block; thence south-westerly by a right line to the south corner of Section 7, Block III, Tangitu Survey District; thence towards the west generally by the southern boundary of the Waitomo County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1939, pages 1535 and 1536, to the Mokau River; thence to the north-east generally by the aforesaid Mokau River to the point of commencement.
