such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April
in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."

AUCKLAND EDUCATION BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District
of Auckland intends to take under the provisions of the
Public Works Act, 1928, for a public school the following land—
namely, all that piece of land containing six (6) acres, more or
less, being portion of Lot 125 of Section F, and being portion of
Allotment 15 of the Parish of Mangatawhiri. A plan of the land
is deposited at the post-office at Pokeno and is there open for in-
spection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected
are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-
grounded objections to the taking of such land and to send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice,
to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office,
Wellesley Street East, Auckland.

MARLBOROUGH ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Marlborough Electric-
power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the
half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the
Marlborough Electric-power Board (Picton District) Reticulation
Loan, 1949, of £28,000, authorized under the said Act for the purpose
of further reticulating the Marlborough Electric-power District, the
said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-four
one-thousandths of a penny (.064d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable
value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property
in the Marlborough Electric-power District, the said special rate
to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and to be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st
day of October in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully
paid off."
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution
passed by the Marlborough Electric-power Board at a meeting held
on the 16th day of August, 1949, and that notice of intention to
make the special rate was advertised in the Marlborough Express
newspaper on the 28th day of July, 1949.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROAD
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties
Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council pro-
poses under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to
execute certain public work and for the purpose of such public work
the various lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to
be taken for road. And notice is further given that plans of the
lands so required to be taken for road are deposited in the public
office of the Clerk to the said Council at Ngaruawahia and at the
offices of Messrs. Tompkins and Wake, Solicitors, Wesley Chambers,
Victoria Street, Hamilton, and are open for inspection by all persons
during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution
of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands who have
any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections
in writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this
notice, that is on or before the 26th day of September, 1949, to
the Raglan County Council at Council Chambers, Waingaro Road,
Ngaruawahia.
