THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid;

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE MANUHERIKIA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Vincent, Otago Land District containing 132,000 acres, more or less, and being Cairnside and parts of Tiger Hill, Leaning Rock, Manor, Cairnhill, Teviot, and Long Valley Survey Districts, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Run 220B in Tiger Hill Survey District; thence south-easterly and generally southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Run 220B and the eastern boundaries of Runs 220H and 220G; thence south-easterly along the southern boundaries of Runs 220F and 220E to the north-west corner of Section 4, Block XIII, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence generally southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Section 4 aforesaid to the western boundary of Run 587; thence generally southerly along that boundary and south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 565; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 565 and 566; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Runs 566, 567, and 569; thence generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 569; thence north-easterly along the western boundary of Run 569 to Trig. J; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Runs 569 and 569A; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Run 570; thence north-westerly along the northern boundary of Run 570 to the Clutha River; thence north-easterly along the eastern bank of the Clutha river to its confluence with the Manuherikia River; thence north-easterly up centre of main stream of the Manuherikia River to a point due west of the north-western corner of Run 220B; thence easterly to the point of commencement.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Kihikihi Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4727)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of August, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the Kihikihi Rabbit District by adding thereto the area of land the boundaries of which are described in the First Schedule hereto;

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district as so altered and redefined shall be those set forth in the Second Schedule hereto; and further,

(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE KIHIKIHI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of approximately 3,070 acres in the South Auckland Land District in the County of Waipa, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Mangaohoi Stream, on the boundary of the Te Awamutu Borough as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 1 of the 8th day of January 1925, page 14, and running south-easterly generally up the middle of the said stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 55A, Puniu Parish; thence along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 55A, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 55 of the said parish, and along a right line across the Kihikihi-Arapuni Main Highway to its southern side; thence north-westerly generally along the southern side of the said main highway, to and along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of the Kihikihi Town District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 128 of the 7th day of December, 1883, page 1735, to and along the southern side of the Great South Road, and along the eastern boundary of the Te Awamutu Borough as described aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE KIHIKIHI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of approximately 8,600 acres in the South Auckland Land District, in the County of Waipa, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VI, Puniu Survey District, where the North Island Main Trunk Railway crosses the middle of the Puniu River and running northerly along the aforesaid railway, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the Borough of Te Awamutu, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 1 of the 8th day of January, 1925, page 14, to the middle of the Mangaohoi Stream; thence south-easterly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 55A, Puniu Parish; thence southerly generally along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 55A, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 55 of the said parish, and along the north-eastern side of the Kihikihi-Arapuni Main Highway to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Tika Road; thence along a right line, to and along the south-eastern side of the said Tika Road, to and along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 10 and the south-eastern boundary of Lot 12, both the aforementioned Lots as shown on the plan numbered 2108, being part of Ngamako No. 1 Block and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced, to the middle of the Puniu River; thence north-westerly generally down the middle of the said river to the point of commencement.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection one of section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Cairnhill Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE CAIRNHILL RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Vincent, Otago Land District containing 23,000 acres, more or less, and being part of Fraser, Cairnhill, and Teviot Survey Districts, bounded as follows: Commencing at the Alexandra Bridge; thence generally southerly along the western bank of the Clutha River to the northern boundary of Run 500; thence westerly along that boundary to the south-western corner of Run 499; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Runs 499, 497, 496, and Sections 1 and 2, Block II, Cairnhill Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 2 aforesaid; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of said Sections 2 and 1, Block I, of the said district to the Milton-Queenstown State Highway; thence north-easterly along that highway to the point of commencement.
