Cancelling the Appointments of Five Non-elective Members of the North Canterbury Catchment Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74 of the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, David Darcy Dun, Esquire, Charles Sherwood Harris, Esquire, B.Agr.Sc., Thomas William Preston, Esquire, Richard Patrick Connell, Esquire, M.A., and Elwyn Frank Evans, Esquire, A.M.I.C.E., were appointed non-elective members of the North Canterbury Catchment Board in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby cancel the appointments of the said David Darcy Dun, Charles Sherwood Harris, Thomas William Preston, Richard Patrick Connell, and Elwyn Frank Evans as non-elective members of the North Canterbury Catchment Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 27th day of July, 1949.

(N.Z.), B.Sc.(For.) (Edin.), James Dickie Raeside, Esquire, M.Sc., A.R.I.C., Thomas Scott McMillan, Esquire, William Cunningham Stafford, Esquire, Dip.Agr. (Lincoln), and James Oliver Riddell, Esquire, B.E., A.M.I.C.E., were appointed non-elective members of the South Canterbury Catchment Board in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941:

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 8 of the twelfth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, Harold Welton Smith, Esquire, Joseph Frederick Field, Esquire, James Pickford Lambert, Esquire, M.Agr.Sc., William Thomas Spelman, Esquire, and William Leslie Harbord, Esquire, Dip. Agr. (Lincoln), were appointed non-elective members of the Southland Catchment Board in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941:

And whereas by a Warrant dated the third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 58 of the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, the said Joseph Frederick Field having resigned from membership of the said Board, Allan Drummond McKinnon, B.For.Sc., was appointed a non-elective member of the Southland Catchment Board in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby cancel the appointments of the said Harold Welton Smith, James Pickford Lambert, William Thomas Spelman, William Leslie Harbord, and Allan Drummond McKinnon as non-elective members of the Southland Catchment Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 27th day of July, 1949.

WHEREAS by a warrant dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52 of the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, William Edwin Shaw, William Leslie Bell, A.M.I.C.E., Kenneth Willway Allison, Arthur Gordon Elliott, and Hilary James Harrington, M.Sc., were appointed non-elective members of the Otago Catchment Board in terms of section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby cancel the appointments of the said William Edwin Shaw, William Leslie Bell, Kenneth Willway Allison, Arthur Gordon Elliott, and Hilary James Harrington as non-elective members of the Otago Catchment Board.

Lands Reserved in the South Auckland and Hawkes Bay Land Districts

WHEREAS by the one-hundred and sixty-seventh section of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose, which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest and notice thereof shall be published in the Gazette:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the lands in the South Auckland and Hawkes Bay Land Districts, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be reserved.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Borough of Tauranga situated in Block X. Tauranga Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 2Β·2 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 29548, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part Section 5, Block X, Tauranga Survey District aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 30/228/30, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
