Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Borough of Masterton for the
Purposes of the Masterton Licensing Trust Act, 1947
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Masterton Licensing
Trust Act, 1947, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto
for the purposes of the Masterton Licensing Trust Act, 1947 ; and
notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the taking
of such land should, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and
send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first
publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 1 rood
1·48 perches.
Being part Section 5, Town of Masterton, and being part Lot 1,
Deposited Plan 8356, and being all the land comprised and
described in Certificate of Title, Volume 504, folio 45, Wellington
Land Registry, and situated at Queen Street, Masterton, and
being occupied by a building known as the Hotel Midland.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions
of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they
relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the
person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the
course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the
respective employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but
shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act 1943.—Notice of
Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
31st day of May, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land
is required, and the 16th day of August, 1949, as the date on or
before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said
Act.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block VII, Wairoa Survey District,
containing by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-three (123)
acres one (1) rood ten (10) perches, more or less, being part of the
land on Deposited Plan 9283, being Allotment 60 and part of Allot-
ment 9, Wairoa Parish, and being all of the land described in
certificate of title, Vol. 224, folio 245 (Auckland Registry).

Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
1st day of June, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land
is required, and the 18th day of August, 1949, as the date on or
before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said
Act.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XVI, Waihou Survey
District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and forty-two
(242) acres two (2) roods thirty-eight (38) perches, more or less,
being Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited Plan 24834, being part of Te Horo
Block and parts of Piraurahi No. 2 and No. 3B No. 2 Blocks, and
being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 649, folio 54
(Auckland Registry).

being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 204, folio 230
(Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block XVI, Waihou
Survey District, and Block IV, Waitoa Survey District, containing
by admeasurement two hundred (200) acres, more or less, being
Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 32166, being parts of the Otamaurunganui
A and Takapau Blocks, and being all of the land described in
certificate of title, Vol, 838, folio 100 (Auckland Registry), subject
to a right-of-way created in and by Transfer No. 237791 over that
part shown more particularly as Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 22500.

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area : Notice of Making and Levying Rates
I, CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands, in
exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki
Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value
of all lands within the district constituted under the said Act the
general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period from 1st April,
1949, to 31st March, 1950, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 19th
July, 1949.
The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the office
of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 15,
First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland,
and a copy of same may be inspected at the Land Drainage Office of
the Ministry of Works at Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices
are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A : On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A
by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, sevenpence and
fifty-seven one-hundredths (7·57d.) in the pound.
CLASS B : On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as
Class B, fourpence and thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny
(4·33d.) in the pound.
CLASS C : On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as
Class C, one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1·08d.)
in the pound.

of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Hikurangi Dairy Co., Ltd., Hikurangi, has applied for per-
mission to move four petrol pumps from the existing reselling point
to a new site in George Street, Hikurangi, where a drive-through
access will be provided.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on
this application should, not later than 21st July, 1949, submit any
written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
