IN LIQUIDATION

PURSUANT to section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, notice is hereby given that a general meeting of Clendon Park Limited, in liquidation, will be held at the registered office of the company, 410 New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, on Thursday, the 28th day of July, 1949, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon for the purpose of enabling the liquidators to lay before the meeting their account of the winding-up of the company and to give any explanation thereof; and for the further purpose of discharging the liquidators from their obligations and considering any general business.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called the said Corporation) proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, to construct a new street, being an extension of Albert Street in the City of Dunedin—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Municipal Chambers of the said Corporation, situated in the Octagon in the said City of Dunedin, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.

SCHEDULE

THAT piece of land containing 4·01 perches, being part of Allotment 17, Deposited Plan 252, Upper Kaikorai District, in the Land District of Otago, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan above mentioned, and thereon coloured yellow.

“That the company be wound up voluntarily and that ALBERT ERNEST LAMBOURN, of Wellington, Accountant and Company Secretary, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

HAWKES BAY CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hawkes Bay Catchment Board proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, the minimizing or prevention of damage by floods and by erosion by controlling the flow of water in the Tukituki River at Waipukurau—and for the purpose of such public work the estate and interest of the lessee under a deed of lease dated the 11th day of March, 1941, from His Majesty the King in the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land, the aforesaid estate and interest in which is so required to be taken, is deposited in the office of the Waipukurau Borough Council and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during the ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such leasehold interest who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such leasehold interest must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the Board at his office, Browning Street, Napier.

SCHEDULE

One hundred and twenty-three acres (123 acres), part of the Tukituki River-bed situated in Blocks XIV and XV, Waipukurau Survey District, and being part of a Railway Ballast Reserve situated adjacent to the County of Waipawa. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited for inspection as aforesaid, and thereon edged green.

PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand, relative to Private Bills, and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to Authorize the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, Duly Incorporated Under the Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885, and the Amendments Thereof, to Remove all Headstones, Monuments, and Grave Surrounds Erected in the Cemetery on the Grounds of Knox Presbyterian Church, Situate in High Street in the City of Lower Hutt, to Level and Plant the Ground so Affected, and to Erect a Monument Common to all Persons Interred in the said Cemetery.”

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand for the said Bill.

The objects of the said Bill are—

(1) To authorize the trustees to remove all headstones, monuments, and grave surrounds at present erected on the grounds of Knox Presbyterian Church, High Street, Lower Hutt, and to close the same as a burial-ground;

(2) To level and tidy the grounds and plant them in grass, trees, and shrubs;

(3) To erect a memorial common to all persons interred in the said grounds;

(4) To prohibit the disturbance or removal of human remains interred in the said grounds; and

(5) To preclude the use of the said grounds for any purpose other than a closed burial-ground.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on the 11th day of July, 1949, and also at the office of Messrs. Bunny, Gillespie, Carter, and Oakley, Solicitors to the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, Post-office Building, High Street, Lower Hutt, and T. and G. Building, Grey Street, Wellington.
