Crown Land Set Apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Waimarino County, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, and being Sections 4 and 5, Block VI, Karioi Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 71/28, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 17th day of June, 1949. C. F. SKINNER, Commissioner of State Forests.

Approving the Term of the Licence Granted to the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, for a Tramway Across Cambridge Street in the County of Horowhenua

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of July, 1949 Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Tramways Act, 1908, and the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the term of the licence granted for a period of twenty-one years from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, by the Horowhenua County Council to the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, authorizing the said company to construct and maintain a private tramway across Cambridge Street, in the County of Horowhenua, the position of such tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 71106, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Approving the Term of the Licence Granted to the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, for a Tramway Across Cambridge Street in the Borough of Levin

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of July, 1949 Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Tramways Act, 1908, and the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the term of the licence granted for a period of twenty-one years from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, by the Levin Borough Council to the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, authorizing the said company to construct and maintain a private tramway across Cambridge Street, in the Borough of Levin, the position of such tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 72008, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Consenting to Leasehold Estates in Land in the Borough of Motueka Being Taken for a Secondary School

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of July, 1949 Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council

of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the leasehold estate in the land first described in the Schedule hereto, held from the Maori Trustee by Bruce Herbert McGlashen, of Motueka, Farmer, under and by virtue of Memorandum of Lease No. 2199 (Leasehold Certificate of Title, Volume 76, folio 63, Nelson Land Registry), and the leasehold estate in the land secondly described in the Schedule hereto held from the Maori Trustee by the said Bruce Herbert McGlashen under and by virtue of Memorandum of Lease No. 2640 (Leasehold Certificate of Title, Volume 88, folio 50, Nelson Land Registry), being taken for a secondary school.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land in respect of which the leasehold estates are permitted to be taken :- A. R. P. Being 0 2 10 Lot 26, D.P. 1575. 3 2 24·6 Lot 27, D.P. 1575. Being part Section 161 (Maori Reserve), District of Motueka. Situated in Block IV, Motueka Survey District (Borough of Motueka) (Nelson R.D.). (S.O. 9589.) In the Nelson Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 128367, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of July, 1949 Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for better utilization.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken : 6-8 perches. Being part of the land on D.P. 734A, being part Allotment 13, Section 30, City of Auckland. Situated in Block XVI, Waitemata Survey District (City of Auckland) (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 35213.) In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 128053, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Consenting to the Raising of the Balance (£43,500) of the Palmerston North City Council's Loan of £58,500

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of June, 1949 Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven (hereinafter referred to as the said Order in Council), and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising by the Palmerston North City Council (hereinafter referred to as the said local authority) of a loan of fifty-eight thousand five hundred pounds (£58,500), to be known as “Public Works Loan, 1946” (hereinafter referred to as the said loan):

And whereas the authority conferred by the said Order in Council has lapsed in accordance with the provisions of clause (7) of the said Order in Council, and it is not now lawful or competent for the said local authority to raise the said loan or any portion thereof except in accordance with the provisions of a further Order in Council that may be issued pursuant to section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act):
