Price Order No. 1029 (Amendment No. 3 of Price Order No. 872) (Seed Potatoes)
PURSUANT to the Control of Price Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1029, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 872* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of July, 1949.

(1) Price Order No. 891† is hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said Order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.
- The principal Order is hereby amended as follows :—
(a) By adding after clause 3 the following clause :—
“3A. (1) The maximum price that may be charged or received for the sacks in which any lot of potatoes to which this Order applies are packed shall be computed as follows :—
“For cornsacks of a size 48 in. by 26½ in., 46 in. by 26½ in., 44 in. by 26½ in., 46 in. by 23 in., or 41 in. by 23 in. : At the rate of 32s. 6d. per ton of potatoes for sacks certified by an official grader appointed by the New Zealand Grain, Seed, and Produce Merchants’ Federation as new sacks or at the rate of 28s. 6d. per ton of potatoes for sacks not so certified :
“For fertilizer sacks of a size 40 in. by 24 in. : At the rate of 12s. per ton of potatoes.
“(2) Where any potatoes to which this Order applies are packed in sacks the maximum price that may be charged or received for the potatoes shall be computed on the gross weight of the potatoes and the sacks.”
(b) By inserting, after the word “distributor” in paragraph (a) of subclause (1) of clause 10, and after the word “person” in paragraph (a) of subclause (1) of clause 12, the words “for the potatoes and for the sacks.”
(c) By omitting the table to subclause (2) of clause 12 and substituting the following table :—

NOTE : The prices in this table include the cost of sacks or bags.
(d) By omitting from subclause (1) of clause 16 the words “and shall state separately the price charged for the sacks.”
(e) By omitting subclause (2) of clause 17.
(f) By inserting in paragraph “A” of the Schedule the variety “Sebago”.
