HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, relinquishments of commissions, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 22, dated 24th April, 1947, relative to the posting to the Retired List of temp. Major E. F. Laws, E.D., is hereby cancelled, and the following substituted:—
“Temp. Major E. D. Laws, E.D., is posted to the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List. Dated 18th April, 1947.”

Captain G. C. Peebles is granted an extension of his short-service commission for a further period of two years as from 1st April, 1949.
Lieutenant A. C. Hurdsfield is granted an extension of his short-service commission for a further period of one year as from 1st April, 1949.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)—
Temp. Captain R. G. G. Dalglisb to be temp. Major and remains seconded to the Avondale College Cadets. Dated 22nd September, 1948.
Temp. Lieutenant W. Mitchell ceases to be seconded to the Takapuna Grammar School Cadets, Area 1, and resigns his commission. Dated 21st December, 1948.
The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own)—
Temp. Captain F. B. Bath ceases to be seconded to Scots College Cadets, Area 5, and relinquishes his commission on appointment to a commission in the N.Z. Regular Force. Dated 14th January, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant I. J. Hills to be temp. Captain and remains seconded to the Hutt Valley High School Cadets. Dated 30th June, 1948.
2nd Lieutenant A. L. Whiteman to be temp. Lieutenant and remains seconded to the Hutt Valley High School Cadets. Dated 1st January, 1948.
The Wellington West Coast and Taranaki Regiment—
Major C. N. Armstrong, M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, with seniority from 1st December, 1948, and is appointed C.O., 1st Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1948.
2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) N. M. Brooker ceases to be seconded to the New Plymouth Boys’ High School Cadets, Area 8, and resigns his commission. Dated 15th October, 1948.
The Canterbury Regiment—
John Lawrence Moffat to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.), and is seconded to the Christchurch Boys’ High School Cadets, Area 10. Dated 25th October, 1948.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment—
2nd Lieutenant J. T. Lewis to be temp. Lieutenant, and remains seconded to the Marlborough College Cadets. Dated 22nd December, 1948.
The Otago and Southland Regiment—
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on prob.), and are seconded to the Otago Boys’ High School Cadets, Area 11:—

Captain E. C. Green is granted an extension of his short-service commission for a further period of two years as from 1st April, 1949.
