A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section twenty-nine of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as street the land described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land proclaimed as street:—

0 0 4 Part of Section 36, Karori District: coloured blue.
0 0 29·4 Part of Section 36, Karori District; coloured sepia.
Situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington). (S.O. 21765.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 129138, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of June, 1949.

Authorizing the Construction of a Motor-way Between the City of Auckland and the Settlement of Kumeu

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of June, 1949
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, and section forty-four of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Main Highways Board, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the construction of a motor-way between the City of Auckland and the settlement of Kumeu, such motor-way to commence in the City of Auckland and to proceed in a general westerly and north-westerly direction across Traherne Island to the Rosebank Peninsula, across Whau River, the Te Atatu Peninsula, and Henderson Creek, and to terminate at the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway adjacent to Brigham's Creek in the Waitemata County.

PURSUANT to section two hundred and forty-six of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the disposition to and acquisition by John Sydney Riddiford, of Pukeatua, Martinborough, Sheep-farmer, of the land described in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the provisions of Part XII of the said Act.
