Price Order No. 1013 (Imported Goods—Timber)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order :—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1013.

This Order shall come into force on the 13th day of June, 1949.

(1) This Order applies with respect to any goods of the kind
specified in the Schedule hereto that have been or may hereafter
be imported into New Zealand and in respect of which an approval
under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, authorizing a
wholesale selling-price is for the time being in force.
(2) Where the importer of any goods to which this Order applies
has paid or is liable to pay for the goods at a price calculated on the
basis of the rate of exchange between New Zealand currency and
sterling ruling immediately prior to the 18th day of August, 1948,
the price authorized by any approval given under section 16 of
the Control of Prices Act, 1947, relating to any such goods shall be
reduced by an amount equal to the amount by which the cost of
those goods to the importer would have been reduced if New Zealand
currency had at all times been at parity with sterling and, every
such approval shall be read and construed accordingly.

KIND OF GOODS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
Imported timber of the following kinds :—
Canadian ash, hickory, mahogany, walnut, oregon, spruce,
redwood (dry), American oak (red and white), Japanese oak,
Australian hardwoods (mixed), larch, hemlock, and teak.

of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Pharmacy Industry
J. L. Fleming, 162 St. Helier’s Bay Road, Auckland, has
applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at the corner of
St. Helier’s Bay Road and Riddell Street, St. Helier’s Bay, Auckland.
J. T. Nicholson, 181 Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, has applied
for a licence to operate a new pharmacy fronting Kitchener Road,
between Frieston and Milford Roads, Milford, Auckland.
F. P. Blackmore, 17 Euston Street, Riccarton, Christchurch,
has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at the corner
of Clyde and Riccarton Roads, Christchurch.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
J. R. McKeen, corner of Beach and Hurley Roads, Paraparaumu
Beach, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from three
pumps to be installed on garage premises at the corner of Beach
and Hurley Roads, Paraparaumu Beach.
J. H. and R. J. Adams, Waiouru, have applied for a licence to
resell motor-spirit from six pumps to be installed on proposed garage
premises at Waiouru.
McAlwee and Garden, Waikaiā, have applied for a licence to
resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises
at Waikaiā.
Surrey Service Station, Limited, Grey Lynn, Auckland, has
applied for permission to transfer the company’s petrol resellers
licence to a new site situated at the corner of Surrey Crescent and
Great North Road, opposite to the existing site.
A. E. Grigg, Tongaporutu, has applied for a licence to resell
motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at
Tongaporutu.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than 16th June, 1949, submit
any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
