The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Lands

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of August, 1949, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 27th day of June, 1949, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block II, Southbridge Survey District, containing seventy-three (73) acres and fifteen (15) perches, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited Plan 688, being part of Rural Section 3328, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 110, folio 102 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Block II, Southbridge Survey District, containing two hundred and eleven (211) acres two (2) roods nine (9) perches, more or less, being Lots 6, 7, 9, and 10, and part of Lot 8, on Deposited Plan 688, being part of Rural Sections 3328 and 3329 (subject to drainage and other rights over part of Lot 8 aforesaid, as created and granted in and by Transfer No. 38590), and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 160, folio 221 (Canterbury Registry).

Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee Under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II) and its Amendments

To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land containing 2 roods, more or less, situate in the Borough of Feilding, being part of Subdivision A, Manchester Block, and Lot 502 on the plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Wellington as No. 19, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 5, folio 268, of the Register-book of the said office, the registered proprietor of which is The Colonists Land and Loan Corporation, Limited, the voluntary winding-up of which was completed in 1916.

WHEREAS, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand:

Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land, and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise as regards the said land the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
