Recreation Reserves in Wellington Land District Brought Under Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of May, 1949

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserves for recreation in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act, and such reserves shall hereafter form part of the Paraparaumu Beach Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain by the Paraparaumu Beach Domain Board.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

Lot 92 on D.P. 12298, being parts Sections 3 and 4, Wainui District, situated in Block I, Paekakariki Survey District: Area, 1 acre 0 roods 5·42 perches, more or less.

Also Lot 10 on D.P. 11617, being part Section 5, Wainui District, situated in Block II, Paekakariki Survey District: Area, 36·68 perches, more or less.

Also Lots 29 and 30 on D.P. 9790, Lot 52 on D.P. 10230, Lot 4 on D.P. 10737, and Lot 14 on D.P. 11635, all being parts Section 22, Wainui District, situated in Block II, Paekakariki Survey District: Total area, 1 acre 3 roods 26·35 perches, more or less.

Also Lot 30 on D.P. 13490, and Lot 71 on D.P. 13961, being parts of Sections 1, 3, and 11, Wainui District, situated in Block I, Paekakariki Survey District: Total area, 4 acres 2 roods 15·2 perches, more or less.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Auckland University College Council

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this 18th day of May, 1949

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for the preservation of native flora: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Auckland University College Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Auckland University College Council.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

SECTIONS 1 and 2, Block VI, Tauhoa Survey District: Area, 745 acres, more or less (North Auckland plan 34823).

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Waipawa County Council

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of May, 1949

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a resting-place for travelling stock: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Waipawa County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Waipawa County Council.

HAWKES BAY LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 28, Block I, Waipukurau Survey District: Area, 2 acres, more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the North Canterbury Catchment Board

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for river-protection purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the North Canterbury Catchment Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the North Canterbury Catchment Board, in trust, for river-protection purposes.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Springs County, containing by admeasurement 56 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve 959, situated in Block XVI, Leeston Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 15/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Declaring the Gisborne Borough Waterworks Reserve in the East Coast Acclimatization District to be a Sanctuary

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the areas described in the Schedule hereto to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act.
