THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in
the Schedule hereto being taken for sand-dune reclamation.

Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of
May, 1949
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute
and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural
fire district, to be known as the “ Pureora Rural Fire District ” ;
and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on State forests
in the said area as the property for the protection of which the
district is constituted ; and doth hereby specify the period between
the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of
April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire
season in the said district; and doth hereby declare that this Order
in Council shall come into force and that the Pureora Rural Fire
District shall become a rural fire district on the day following
publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette ; and doth hereby
prescribe that the said Pureora Rural Fire District shall be ad-
ministered for the purposes of the said Act by the Commissioner
of State Forests.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
Pureora Rural Fire District
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Otorohanga, Waitomo,
Taumarunui, and Taupo Counties, containing approximately
300,000 acres, situated in Mangaorongo, Wharepapa, Pakaumanu,
Ranginui, Whakamaru, Ongarue, Hurakia, Marotiri, Tuhua, and
Puketapu Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows :
Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 7, Block XII,
Wharepapa Survey District; thence towards the north-east by a
right line to the junction of the Waiteti Stream and the Waipapa
River; thence by the Waiteti Stream and the south-western side
of the Waipapa Access Road; towards the east by the western
side of the Mangakino—Whakamaru Road to the Mangakino Stream ;
towards the south-east by the Mangakino and Huiarau Streams ;
thence by a right line from the headwaters of the last-mentioned
stream to Trig. Station 1774, Titiraupenga; thence by Tihoi No. 3
Block to Trig. Station 1390, Pureora, thence by the main range
through Trig. Stations 2016, Weraroa and 2019, Tuhingemata, and
by the watershed of the Taringamutu River and the Waihaha
Stream to the north-western boundary of the Hauhungaroa Block
and by Hauhungaroa Nos. 2D and 9 Blocks; towards the east by
Hauhungaroa Nos. 9, 10, and 11 Blocks, being permanent State
Forest (Gazette 1943, page 319); towards the south-west generally
by Hauhungaroa No. 1C Block, Waituhi-Kuratau Nos. 2A and 2B
Blocks, Rangitoto Tuhua Nos. 67B 1, 67A 7A, 67A 7B, and 66A
No. 3A Blocks, and by the south-western side of the Mangakahu
Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rangitoto
Tuhua No. 76A 5 Block; towards the west by Rangitoto Tuhua
No. 76A 5, 76B 8A, 76B 8B 2D, 76B 8B 2E, and 76B 8B 2F Blocks ;
towards the north generally by Rangitoto Tuhua No. 76B 6 Block,
the Waione Stream, and by Lot 4 on D.P. 14777, being part of
Rangitoto Tuhua No. 80B 1C 2 Block; towards the north-east
and north-west by Rangitoto Tuhua No. 80B 3 Block; towards
the west by Sections 11 and 4, Block X, Ongarue Survey District,
by the Okauaka Stream, Section 3, Block VI, Ongarua Survey
District, Rangitoto Tuhua No. 37B 4 Block, Sections 7, 5, and 6,
Block III, and Sections 5, 6, and 12, Block I, Pahi Survey District ;
towards the south-west by Sections 12 and 13, Block I aforesaid,
Section 1, Block XVI, Pakaumanu Survey District, Sections 10,
9, 8, and 7, Block XI, Pakaumanu Survey District, Rangitoto
Tuhua No. 25, No. 5B Block, and by the Okahukura Stream and
Waipa River; towards the north-east generally by Rangitoto
A No. 41, A No. 48B 2A 1, A No. 48B 2A 2, and A No. 48B 2B 1 Blocks,
Section 1, Block IV, Pakaumanu Survey District, Rangitoto A No. 19
Block, Lots 3, 4, 5, and 6 on D.P. 11787, being formerly part of
Rangitoto Tuhua A No. 18A 2C Block and by part of Rangitoto
A No. 27B Block; towards the north-east and north-west by the
last-mentioned Block; towards the north by Sections 6 and 5,
Block XIII, Wharepapa Survey District, and Section 8, Block XIV,
Wharepapa Survey District; towards the north-west by the north-
western sides of Tolley's Road and Wairehi Road; towards the
north-east by the north-eastern side of the Aotearoa Road; and
towards the north-west by the north-western side of the Arohena
Road. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan
No. 45/21 deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service,
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to the Pine Island
Domain Board (hereinafter called the Board, which term shall
include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a
different construction) the control of the foreshore at Pine Island,
Waitemata Harbour, described in the First Schedule hereto, and
subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Second Schedule
hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
FORESHORE VESTED
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District in Block VII,
Waitemata Survey District, being the foreshore of the Waitemata
Harbour fronting Lots 108 and 109, as shown on the plan numbered
31409, deposited in the Office of the District Land Registrar at
Auckland, being parts of Allotments 15 and 15A on Herald Island
in the Parish of Paremoremo, bounded towards the west by a line
bearing 343° 40′ from the western corner of the aforesaid Lot 108,
and bounded towards the north-east by a line bearing 305° 15′
from the northern corner of the aforesaid Lot 109. As the same
is shown on the plan marked M.D. 8875, and deposited in the office
of the Marine Department at Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- In these conditions the terms—
“ Foreshore ” means such parts of the bed, shore, or banks
of a tidal water as are covered and uncovered by the
flow and ebb of the tide at ordinary spring tides :
“ Low-water mark ” means low-water mark at ordinary spring
tides :
“ Minister ” means the Minister of Marine as defined by the
Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, and includes any
officer, person, or authority acting by or under the
direction of such Minister.

The concessions and privileges conferred by this Order in
Council shall extend and apply only to those parts of the foreshore
as shown in red on plan marked M.D. 8875, and deposited in the
office of the Marine Department at Wellington. -
His Majesty or the Governor-General, and all officers in the
Government service acting in the execution of their duty, shall
at all times have free ingress, passage, and egress out and over the
said foreshore without payment.
