Notice of Intention to Take Land
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the
District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, for a public school the following
land-namely, all that piece of land containing 6 acres and 2 perches,
more or less, being Lots 1 and 2 on a plan deposited in the Land
Registry Office at Auckland as No. 31889, and being part of Allot-
ment 199 of the Parish of Waikomiti, which said land is the whole
of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 817,
folio 19, and Vol. 817, folio 20 (Auckland Registry).
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to
set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land and to send such writing within forty days from the first
publication of this notice to the Education Board of the District of
Auckland at its office, Wellesley Street East, Auckland.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act,
1909, by writing under his hand dated this 13th day of May, 1949,
cancelled the registry of Waverley Lodge, No. 158, of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register
No. 146/258), held at Invercargill, on the ground that the said
branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act,
1909, by writing under his hand dated this 13th day of May, 1949,
cancelled the registry of Onslow Lodge, No. 128, of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register No.
146/182), held at Khandallah, on the ground that the said branch
has ceased to exist.

2. To empower the said Board to apply the proceeds of such
sale in carrying on work of a similar kind to that for which the said
land was devised to the Board, including the purchase of other
lands in the provincial District of Nelson, to be held by the said Board
upon similar trusts in all respects to the trusts declared in the will
of the said James Wilfred Marsden in respect of the above-mentioned
land and the establishment thereon of an experimental station.
3. To authorize the said Board, pending the application of
the proceeds of such sale as aforesaid, to invest any moneys arising
therefrom or any part thereof in any manner in which the Board is
authorized by law to invest trust-moneys, and to apply the income
arising from such investments in or towards the same purposes to
which the capital moneys are to be appropriated, or, in the discretion
of the said Board, in carrying on work of a similar kind to that for
which the said lands were devised to the Board.
4. To authorize the said Board to lease the said land or any
parts thereof and to apply the income to be derived therefrom in
carrying on work of a similar kind to that for which the said lands
were devised to the Board.
5. To empower the said Board to invest the funds of the Board
on first mortgage of certain leasehold property.
Copies of the said proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill office of the General Assembly of New Zealand not earlier than
thirty days before and not later than fourteen days after the com-
mencement of the session in which it is proposed to bring in the
said Bill.

THAMES BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSES OF A
PUBLIC CAMPING AND RECREATIONAL GROUND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Thames Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act,
1928, and its amendments, to execute a public work-namely,
the establishment of a pleasure ground to provide a public camping
and recreational ground-and for the purposes of such public work
the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken ;
and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required
to be taken as aforesaid is deposited in the public office to the said
Thames Borough Council, situated at Pollen Street, Thames, and is
open for inspection without fee by all persons during office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or
by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
lands must state their objections in writing and send the same,
within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to
the Thames Borough Council at its said office at Thames.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing 17 acres, more or less, situated
in the Borough of Thames, being part of the Blocks called Kauae-
ranga E. 14 and Onepu No. 2, and being the whole of the land
comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 562, folio 236,
Auckland Registry, limited as to parcels.
