BOROUGH OF MOTUEKA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Aerodrome Renewal Loan 1949 (£850)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Motueka Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £850, authorized to be raised by the Motueka Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming at maturity the outstanding liability in respect of the Aerodrome Loan, 1937 (£2,400), the said Motueka Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Motueka ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.
WHEREAS it is provided by section 308 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, as follows :—
“ (1) In order to provide for the health, amusement, and instruction of the public the Council may—
“ (a) Take, purchase, or otherwise provide and maintain land and buildings within or without the borough to be used as or for the purposes of pleasure-grounds, sports-grounds, rifle ranges, gymnasiums, physical-training schools, gardens, zoological gardens, music and dance halls, libraries, museums, and art galleries.”
And whereas it is the intention of the Hastings Borough Council to provide and maintain further land within the Borough of Hastings to be used as public reserves : Now therefore notice is hereby given that the Hastings Borough Council proposes under the aforesaid provisions and other provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf to take for the purpose of certain public works—namely, for public reserves at Hastings—the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council at Hastings Street, Hastings, and are there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said lands are hereby called upon to set forth the same in writing and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Hastings Borough Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, High Street, Motueka, on the 27th day of April, 1949, the following special resolution was duly passed :—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily and that LESLIE WILLIAM LEPPIEN, of Motueka, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Conversion Redemption Loan No. 5, 1949, of £20,050, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying on the 1st November, 1949, the debentures issued pursuant to clause 16 of the Invercargill City Loans Conversion Order 1934, and maturing on the 1st November, 1954, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal seven three eight pence (·738d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held on Tuesday, 26th April, 1949.
