Now, therefore, pursuant to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke, in so far only as it applies to the Ealing Public Cemetery, the said Warrant of the sixteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

Extending Time Within Which Commission Appointed to Inquire Into the Treatment and Disposal of Sewage in the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage District Shall Report

FREYBERG, Governor-General To all to whom these presents shall come, and to RONALD HENRY QUILLIAN, of the City of New Plymouth, New Zealand, Barrister; THOMAS BRUCE NICOL, of the City of Sydney, New South Wales, Engineer; and JOHN HOWARD BARNETT, of the City of Wellington, New Zealand, Public Accountant: Greetings.

WHEREAS by Warrant issued on the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, under the hand of the Governor-General and the Seal of the Dominion, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, you were appointed under the authority of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the methods of treatment and disposal of sewage in the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage District and the Boroughs of Northcote, Birkenhead, Devonport, and Takapuna, and kindred matters as set forth in the said Warrant:

And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report not later than the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, your findings and opinions on the matters referred to you together with such recommendations as you might think fit to make:

And whereas by Warrant issued on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, the time within which you were required to report was extended to the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine:

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be further extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, I, Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council, do hereby extend until the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, the time within which you are so required to report:

And, in further pursuance of the said powers and authorities, and with the like advice and consent, I do hereby confirm the said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted save as modified by these presents.

Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of May, 1949.

Appointing Additional Members to Kirk's Bush Scenic Board

B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and published in the Gazette of the seventh day of March, the control of a reserve in the North Auckland Land District, known as the Kirk's Bush Scenic Reserve, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Kirk's Bush Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908:

And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of the said Board should be increased:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint

Francis Andrew Carter,

Charles Robert Reader, and

Francis John Edward Jollie,

to be additional members of the Kirk's Bush Scenic Board hereinbefore referred to as from the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

Lands Reserved in the North Auckland, South Auckland, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts

B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General WHEREAS by the one-hundred and sixty-seventh section of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which in his opinion is desirable in the public interest, and notice thereof shall be published in the Gazette :

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the lands in the North Auckland, South Auckland, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be reserved.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Borough of Onehunga, situated in Block I, Otahuhu Survey District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 29.2 perches, more or less, being Allotment 11 of Section 12, Village of Onehunga. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1221A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
