The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 1 on the 13th day of January, 1949, at page 10:

And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said land:

And whereas the Land Valuation Committee did on the 3rd day of March, 1949, make an order determining that the said land is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land described in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 30th day of March, 1949, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing one thousand four hundred and thirty-four (1,434) acres one (1) rood and thirty-five (35) perches, more or less, being Allotment 5, D.P. 1864, and being parts of Sections 1, 3, 4, and 5, Block II, and part of Section 1, Block VI, Benger Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 152, folio 211 (Otago Registry).

As witness my hand, this 21st day of March, 1949.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice of Intention to Take Land

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act, the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66 on the 13th day of November, 1947, at page 1768:

And whereas objections were made in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said lands:

And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed with action to take the said lands:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of subsection (4) of section 25 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke the notice of intention to take the said lands.

SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and twelve (112) acres, more or less, being Rural Section 26697, situated in Block XI, Geraldine Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 129, folio 219 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and three (103) acres three (3) roods, more or less, being Lot 4 on the plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch as No. 9680, being part of Rural Section 26694, situated in Block XI, Geraldine Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 427, folio 279 (Canterbury Registry).
