Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block V, Otamatea Survey District, for a Maori School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Maori school—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaiwaka, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 4 acres 8·1 perches. Being part Lot 1, D.P. 34898, being part Kaitara No. 2F Block. Situated in Block V, Otamatea Survey District (Auckland R.D.), (S.O. 34977.) In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 128742, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Exemption from Handbrake Requirement

PURSUANT to Regulation 10 (6) of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve for use, in terms of clause 5 of Regulation 8 of the said Regulations, of any brake of the type and fitted to any logging trailer of the make described in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the conditions described in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE

Type of Brake : Vacuum brake, of the air-suspended or vacuum-suspended type operated by dual lines having the emergency break-away function.
Makes of Trailer : Hayes, Utility, Fruehauf, Abingdon, Abingdon-Hayes, and Abingdon-Utility.
Conditions of use : While the said trailers are being used for logging purposes and subject to wheel checks being carried on the respective trailer at all times while on any road for checking the movement of the wheels of the trailer when at rest on a grade.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality, and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke that Warrant dated the 17th day of February, 1949*, which refers to an area in Rangiora County, and doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rangiora County— That portion of the Kaiapoi-Waddington, via Rangiora, Main Highway No. 112, commencing at the southern boundary of Rangiora Borough and terminating at the junction of the said main highway with Ellis Road.

Social Security Act, 1938.—Notice Regarding Amendments to Prescription Prices in New Zealand Formulary

ADDENDUM, March, 1949, to the New Zealand Formulary:—

NEW ZEALAND FORMULARY, PART 2

The reference in this part of the New Zealand Formulary to the First Schedule to the Rules of Prescription Pricing shall, where applicable, be deemed to be to the Prescription Pricing Supplement 1949/2, issued by the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee. This amendment shall take effect with respect to all medical prescriptions and midwifery orders (whatever the date thereof) that are presented to a contractor for fulfilment on or after the 1st April, 1949.
