The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Service-
men

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the
land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the applica-
tion has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the
application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of
discharged servicemen:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of
the land, did on the 9th day of February, 1949, make an order
determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said
order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within
any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land
is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 9th day of May, 1949, as the date on which the said
land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
HAWKES BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area of land containing by admeasurement seven (7) acres
one (1) rood and thirty-two (32) perches, more or less, being Lot 3,
Deeds Plan No. 816, which said parcel of land is part of Block 27,
Puketapu Crown Grant District, situate in Block III, Heretaunga
Survey District, and comprising all the land contained in certificate
of title, Vol. 32, folio 182 (Hawkes Bay Registry), limited as to parcels
and subject to fencing covenants contained in Transfer No. 46202
and Transfer No. 50066.

Intention to Take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
30th day of June, 1949, as the date on which possession of the land
is required, and the 11th day of April, 1949, as the date on or before
which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement ten (10) perches,
more or less, being Section 3051, Block I, Toaroha Survey District,
and being all the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 26,
folio 36 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one
hundred and six (106) acres ten (10) perches, more or less, being
Subdivision 5 on Deposited Plan 467 of Lot 1 of Section 1561,
Block I, Toaroha Survey District, and being all the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 24, folio 169 (Westland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement six
hundred and ninety-one (691) acres thirty-five (35) perches, more
