Notice as to Statutory Closing-days Under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22
WHEREAS the Mayors or Chairmen, as the case may be, of the local authorities of the respective separate districts mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto have duly notified the Minister of Labour that the days decided on as the statutory closing-days in their respective districts, pursuant to the provisions of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, are the days set opposite their respective names in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon him by the said Act, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint that the said respective days shall be the statutory closing-days for shops in the said respective districts on and from the 21st day of March, 1949.

Appointing Wednesday as the Statutory Closing-day in the New Brighton Area of the City of Christchurch

THE following special order made by the Matamata County Council on the 17th day of February, 1949, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“ In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 5 (c) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves and declares that the undermentioned plant is a noxious weed within the County of Matamata :—
“ Winged thistle (Carduus pycnocephalus).”

Declaring Heil Trailer Units Forming Part of a Multi-axled Motor-vehicle to be Trailers
PURSUANT to the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924, and pursuant to subsection (2) of section 46 of the Transport Law Amendment Act, 1948, the Minister of Transport doth hereby determine that the two vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto, each forming part of a multi-axled motor-vehicle as defined by section 26 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1937, shall be deemed to be trailers.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 30 miles an hour fixed by the said section.

All that area adjacent to Inglewood, consisting of that portion of the New Plymouth – Hawera State Highway No. 10, commencing at the south-eastern boundary of Inglewood Borough, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 8 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-easterly direction from the said boundary.
