The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice of Intention to Take Land
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66 on the 13th day of November, 1947, at page 1768 :
And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed with action to take the said lands :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of subsection (4) of section 24 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke the notice of intention to take the said lands.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one (1) acre one (1) rood and five decimal eight (5·8) perches, more or less, being part Lot 6 on plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch as No. 2160, and being part of Section 1, Square 88, Amuri, situated in Block I, Cheviot Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 319, folio 247 (Canterbury Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement sixty-six (66) acres three (3) roods and two decimal five (2·5) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 on plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch as No. 8993, being part Section 1, Squares 85 and 88, Amuri, situated in Block I, Cheviot Survey District, and being the whole of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 467, folio 92, excepting thereout the land taken by Proclamation No. 1803 (Canterbury Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement three hundred and twenty-seven (327) acres one (1) rood and twenty-five decimal five (25·5) perches, more or less, being part Lot 6 on the plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch as No. 2160, being Sections 182 and 184, Square 88, Amuri, part Section 1, Squares 85 and 88, Amuri, part section 4, Square 86, Amuri, part Section 36, Squares 86, 87, and 88, Amuri, part Sections 37 and 38, Squares 87 and 88, Amuri, and part Section 15, Square 87, Amuri, situated in Block I, Cheviot Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 467, folio 93, excepting thereout the land taken by Proclamation No. 1803 (Canterbury Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two hundred and forty-two (242) acres and twenty-seven (27) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on the plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch as No. 12181, and being part Sections 1, 2, 3, and 14, Square 85, Amuri, situated in Block I, Cheviot Survey District, and Block XIII, Hawkswood Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 476, folio 269 (Canterbury Registry).

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of subsection (4) of section 24 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke the notice of intention to take the said land.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing five (5) acres one (1) rood twenty-four (24) poles, more or less, being Section 1311R, Block LXXXIV, Clutha Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 234, folio 26 (Otago Registry).

ALL that area containing one thousand nine hundred and sixteen (1,916) acres and three (3) roods, more or less, being parts of Sections 1 to 12, Block XCII, Sections 1 to 11, and parts of Section 12, Block LXXXVIII, Sections 1 to 10 and 12 and part of Section 11, Block LXXXIV, parts of Sections 10 and 12, Block LXXVI, and parts of Sections 1 and 2, Block LVII, all of Clutha Survey District, and also part of Section 3, Block IV, Pomahaka Survey District, being part of Lot 2 on plan numbered 4074 and part of the land shown on plan numbered 2842, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Dunedin, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 245, folio 42, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).
Also all that area containing nine (9) acres three (3) roods twenty-nine (29) poles, more or less, being a closed road-line between Blocks LXXXIV, LXXXVIII, and XCII on the north-east, and Blocks LXXXIII, LXXXVII, and XCI on the south-west, all of the Clutha Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 151, folio 66 (Otago Registry).
Also all that area containing twenty-one (21) acres one (1) rood thirty (30) poles, more or less, being closed roads between Block IV, Pomahaka Survey District, and Block LVII, Clutha Survey District on the north-east, and Blocks LXXXIV, LXXXVIII, and XCII, Clutha Survey District, on the south-west, and between Blocks LXXXVIII and XCII and between Blocks LXXXIV and LXXXVIII, all of Clutha Survey District, and being the balance of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 79, folio 32 (Otago Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of April, 1949, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 19th day of January, 1949, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL those areas of land containing together three thousand four hundred and eighty-two (3,482) acres one (1) rood and thirty-one (31) perches, more or less, being Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, and parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, Block XIII, Sections 8, 9, 10, 14, and 15, Block XIV, and Section 11, Block XVI, Crookston Survey District, parts of the land being shown on Deposited Plans 886 and 1499, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 181, folio 224 (Otago Registry).

Application of the Education (Salaries and Staffing) Regulations 1948, to Teachers Employed in the Public Service
Office of the Public Service Commission,
Wellington, 14th December, 1948.
THE Public Service Commission hereby directs that the Education (Salaries and Staffing) Regulations 1948 shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to the teachers employed in the following schools under the control of, or on the staff of, the Department of Education under the Education Act, 1914 :—
(a) Maori schools.
(b) Chatham Islands schools.
(c) Correspondence School.
(d) Technical Correspondence School.
(e) The School for the Deaf, Sumner.
(f) The School for the Deaf, Titirangi.
(g) Any other schools for the time being under the control of the Department of Education.
(h) Teachers of Art and Crafts, and Physical Education teachers.
In any case where in respect of teachers not under the control of the Public Service Commission any decision is reserved for the Minister such decision in respect of officers of the Public Service shall be reserved for the Public Service Commission.
