INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council
hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal,
interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Conversion Redemption Loan No. 4, 1949, of £23,850, authorized to
be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of repaying on the 1st May, 1949, the debentures
issued pursuant to clause 16 of the Invercargill City Loans Conversion Order, 1934, and maturing on the 1st May, 1954, the said Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal eight four five
pence (0·845d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of
the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Inver-
cargill; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st
day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of five years or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a
resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held
on Tuesday, 16th November, 1948.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council
hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal,
interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Re-
demption Loan, 1949, of £8,200; authorized to be raised by the Inver-
cargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose
of redeeming Debenture No. 21 in the issue of £14,000 raised in
respect of the Invercargill City Council Water and Drainage Loan,
1938, £70,500, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of decimal one five three of a penny (0·153d.) in the pound on
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the City of Invercargill; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such
loan and be payable on the 1st day of July in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until
the loan is fully paid off."*

a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council
held on Tuesday, 16th November, 1948.

TARARUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Tararua Electric-
power Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £20,000 (to be known as the
'Supplementary Loan, 1948'), authorized to be raised by the
Tararua Electric-power Board in New Zealand by special order
under the above-mentioned Act, and of all other Acts and autho-
rities it thereunto enabling, for the purposes of (1) extending the
distribution lines in the Counties of Pahiatua, Eketahuna, and
Mauriceville, (2) extending the pilot-wire water-heating control system
in the Boroughs of Pahiatua and Eketahuna, and (3) for the purchase
of electric meters and electric time-switches, the said Tararua
Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of
eleven one-hundredths (11/100ths) of a penny in the pound upon
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in that portion of the rating area of the Tararua
Electric-power District, comprising the following special rating
area--namely, the Board's original district as defined in New Zealand
Gazette No. 21 of 23rd March, 1922; and that such special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract
from the minutes of a meeting of the Tararua Electric-power Board
held on the 19th day of November, 1948.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership known as "E. R.
Hook and Company," hitherto existing between EDMOND
RUSSELL HOOK, FREDERICK JAMES NICHOLLS, and BARRETT LOUIS
RUTLEDGE, and trading as Painters and Paperhangers, has been
dissolved as from the 26th day of October, 1948, and the business
will henceforth be carried on between EDMOND RUSSELL HOOK
and FREDERICK JAMES NICHOLLS under the name of E. R. Hook

    company has been disposed of.

    ordinary resolution:
    "That the books and papers of the company and of the liquidator
    be disposed of by their being left in the custody of the liquidator
    for a period of three years from this date and then destroyed."

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of Ventilation Con-
struction, Limited, will be held on Friday, 3rd December,
1948, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be pro-
posed, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company
will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933,
at the registered office of the company, Room 1, Beehive Chambers,
71 Courtenay Place, Wellington, on Friday, the 3rd day of December,
1948, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement
of the position of the company's affairs, together with a list of the
creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid
before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance
of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the
liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the
said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.
