At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of November, 1948

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize Donald Simpson, of Karamea, Garage-proprietor (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto; and further doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the Gazette on the second day of March of the same year at page 365, authorizing the licensee to lay, construct, put up, place, and use certain electric lines.

CONDITIONS

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS

THE conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

This licence is issued under the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 and the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be classified under paragraph (j) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be direct current. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be 110 volts between terminals.

  1. DURATION OF LICENCE

Unless sooner determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1969, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE

LINES adapted for the distribution of electrical energy by the system of supply prescribed in these presents leading from the licensee's garage and power-house situated in Lot 3 on D.P. 268, part Section 36, Square 152, Oparara Survey District, across Bridge Street to the licensee's residence situated in Lot 8 on D.P. 1680, part Section 35, Square 152, Oparara Survey District, all in the County of Buller in the Land District of Nelson; the said lines being shown by means of green lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 48, deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department.

Authorizing the Acquisition of Land Notwithstanding the Provisions as to Limitations of Area

PURSUANT to section forty-one of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1945, and all other powers him enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the disposition to and the acquisition by Willa Elizabeth McRae, of Sutton, Farmer, of the land described in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the provisions of Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for a public school.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 2 acres 3 roods 6·99 perches.

Being Lot 2 and part Lot 4, D.P. 5024.

Situated in the Borough of Hastings (Hawke's Bay R.D.). (S.O. 2317.)

In the Hawke's Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127937, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged orange.

Constitution of Rural Fire District

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of November, 1948

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the “Ashley Rural Fire District”; and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on State forest land situated in the said area as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted; and doth hereby specify the period between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district; and doth hereby prescribe that the said Ashley Rural Fire District shall be administered by the Commissioner of State Forests for the purposes of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY CONSERVANCY

Ashley Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashley and Kowai Counties, containing approximately 20,600 acres, situated in Blocks IX, X, XI, XIII, XIV, and XV, Grey Survey District, and Blocks I, II, and III, Rangiora Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-west by the south branch of the Kowai River; towards the east generally by Rural Sections 30560 and 23872, the northern side of the Ashworth Bush Road; and by Rural Sections 31440, 29781, and 21204; towards the north by Fox's Creek; towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of McLeod's Road; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of Marshman's Road; towards the south-west by the south-western side of a public road traversing Rural Section 8106; towards the south-east by the south-eastern sides of Boundary Road and Dixon's Road; towards the south-west by the south-western sides of Cone's Road and Carr's Road; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of a public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 8253; towards the south-west and north-west by the Makerikeri River to the south-western corner of Rural Section 33533; thence by that section and the north-western side of a public road and the south-western side of another public road to and across Kowai Road, and by the western side of Kowai Road to its junction with the south branch of the Kowai River. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 136/6, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
