The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.-Notice Fixing Prices of Certain Grades

Wellington, 1st November, 1948.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5: 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st November to 30th November, 1948:-

Loose packed fresh lemons, Preferred Commercial Grade ... 7 2
Loose packed fresh lemons, Commercial Grade . 5 8
Loose packed fresh lemons, First-grade Peel 5 6
Loose packed fresh lemons, Second-grade Peel . 4 0
Loose packed fresh lemons, Juice Grade . 2 0

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 7th day of October, 1948, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of December, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement two hundred and seventy-nine (279) acres and twenty-seven (27) perches, more or less, being Sections 32, 33, 35, and part of Section 34, Block VII, Pomahaka Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 61, folio 108 (Otago Registry).

Also all that area containing by admeasurement two (2) acres two (2) roods and twenty-one decimal two (21.2) perches, more or less, being closed road between Section 35, part of Section 34, and Section 36, closed road-line and part of Section 37, Block VII, Pomahaka Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 142, folio 220 (Otago Registry).

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture of Footwear

H. J. Priestley, 176 Mount Smart Road, Onehunga, Auckland, has applied for a licence to manufacture Roman sandals by the fair-stitched process.

Pharmacy Industry

A. G. Meredith, Hill Road, Manurewa, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Great South Road, Papatoetoe.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

C. J. Terrell, 25 Pannells Avenue, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed new service-station premises at the corner of Page's and Kearney's Roads, Christchurch.

W. J. Wells, care of Post-office, Oaro, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station premises at Oaro, Kaikoura County.

N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at the company's branch, Rolleston Street, Rakaia.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 25th November, 1948, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XIV, Otahuhu Survey District, containing by admeasurement seven (7) acres and twenty (20) perches, more or less, being part of Lot 29 on Deposited Plan 4436 and Lots 3 and 4 on Deposited Plan 16909, being parts of Clendon's Grant, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 662, folio 268 (Auckland Registry).
