THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Peter Fraser, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purpose of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.

SCHEDULE

MANGAKAHIA TRIBAL DISTRICT

Nukutawhiti Tribal Committee Area

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the eastern end of the northern boundary of the middle portion of the Nukutawhiti Block; thence south-westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Opouteke and Mangakahia Rivers; thence south-westerly generally up the middle of the Opouteke River to a point in line with the western boundary of Ruataewao No. 2A Block; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of the said block; thence south-westerly and westerly generally along the north-western boundary of Lot 24, Te Karaka Block, across a public road, the north-western boundary of Lot 5, Te Karaka Block, the southern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 10, Block XII, Tutamoe Survey District, the production of the last-mentioned boundary, across Section 9 of the said Block XII, the western boundary of the said Section 9, across a public road, the northern boundaries of Sections 9 and 10, Block XI, Tutamoe Survey District, the north-western boundary of Section 10 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of State forest (Gazette, 1940, page 1126), the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block X, Tutamoe Survey District, a right line across the Opouteke River and a public road, the eastern boundaries of Section 4, Block X aforesaid, and of Sections 15 and 12, Block VI, Tutamoe Survey District, across a public road, the generally eastern side of that road forming the western boundaries of Sections 10 and 15, Block VII, and Lot 2 of Section 13, Block III of the said survey district, again across that road, the generally eastern and northern boundaries of Section 12A, the eastern boundary of Section 4A, both of Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, the south side of the road forming the northern boundary of Section 13A, Block III aforesaid, a right line across a road to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block II aforesaid, a right line to the southern corner of Section 6, Block XV, Punakitere Survey District, across another public road and to the middle of the Mangakahia River in line with the western boundary of Section 3, Block XV aforesaid, the northern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid, the middle of a small stream forming part of the last-mentioned north-eastern boundary, the middle of the Mangakahia River, a right line to and along the north-eastern boundary of Aukumeroa No. 2 Block and its production to the middle of the Mangakahia River, the middle of that river and the Awarua River, the northern boundary of the middle portion of the Nukutawhiti Block to its eastern end, being the point of commencement.

Pakotai Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the eastern end of the northern boundary of the middle portion of the Nukuta-whiti Block; thence south-easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 40A (Tiratumutumu) in Block XI, Mangakahia Survey District, to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Kaikou No. 4 Block; thence south-westerly along a right line to the north-western corner of Mimituruarei No. 18A Block; thence southerly along the western boundary of that block and its production across the Mangakahia River to the middle of Lang's Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to the Mangakahia Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to the middle of the Opouteke River, being a point on the boundary of the Nukutawhiti Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary to the eastern end of the northern boundary of the middle portion of the Nukutawhiti Block, being the point of commencement.

Parakao Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station 40A (Tiratumutumu) in Block XI, Mangakahia Survey District; thence easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station L1 (Tautewhananga) in Block IX, Purua Survey District, to the middle of the Mangakahia River near the south-eastern corner of Section 7, Block XII, Mangakahia Survey District; thence southerly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern end of a road forming the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XV, Mangakahia Survey District, the said south-eastern end of that road, the north-eastern boundary of Maungaru Block, the south-eastern, eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of the provisional State forest (Gazette, 1922, page 1921), the northern boundary of Section 19, Block XIV, Mangakahia Survey District, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 13 on the plan numbered 12412, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of the Te Karaka Block, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 12 of a subdivision of Te Karaka Block aforesaid, across a public road, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 10, Te Karaka Block, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 25, Te Karaka Block, and the south-eastern, north-eastern, and part of the north-western boundaries of Lot 24 of the said block to the south-western corner of Ruataewao No. 2A Block, being a point on the boundary of the Nukutawhiti Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence northerly generally along that boundary to the middle of the Mangakahia Road, being a point on the boundary of the Pakotai Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore

described ; thence south-easterly and north-easterly generally along that boundary to the easternmost corner of the Pakotai Tribal Committee Area; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 40A, being the point of commencement.

Poroti Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Mangakahia River near the south-eastern corner of Section 7, Block XII, Mangakahia Survey District, and on a right line from Trig. Station 40A (Tiratumutumu) to Trig. Station L1 (Tautewhananga) in Block IX, Purua Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station M2 in Block X, Purua Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Tauraroa River in line with the production southwards of the eastern boundary of Lot 44 on the plan numbered 8548, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Walton's Grant, the said point being a point on the boundary of the Whangarei County; thence north-westerly, westerly, northerly, and easterly generally along that county boundary being a right line to the southern end of the eastern boundary of Lot 44 aforesaid, the eastern boundary of the said Lot 44, part of the northern boundary of Lot 43 on the plan numbered 8548 aforesaid, the eastern boundary of Block VII, Tangihua Survey District, the eastern boundary of Block I of that survey district, the south-western boundaries of Sections E. 9, S.W. 9, and 14, the western boundaries of Sections 14, 15, and 16, all of the aforesaid Block III, the south-western boundaries of Sections 7, E. 8, W. 8, S.E. 9, N.W. 9, 10, 11, Part 12, 13, and 14, the south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 15, all of the aforesaid Block I, the southern and south-western boundaries of Lot 2 on the plan numbered 13137, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Pukepukerau Block, across a public road, the western boundary of Ti Iweri Block, the south-western and north-western boundaries of Panekuri Block, the north-western boundary of Ngawhakarikiriki Block, the production of that boundary to the middle of the Waiotama River, the middle of that river, a right line to the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block IV, Maungaru Survey District, the eastern boundary of Section 4 aforesaid, a right line to the right bank of the said river, across a public road, the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Section 4, the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Maungaru Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Wairua River, the middle of that river to its confluence with the Mangakahia River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to the aforesaid right line between Trig. Station 40A and L1, being the point of commencement.

Timaru Egg Marketing Notice No. 4

PURSUANT to the Egg Marketing Emergency Regulations 1942,* I, Edward Cullen, the Minister of Marketing, hereby give notice as follows:-

  1. This notice may be cited as the Timaru Egg Marketing Notice No. 4.

  2. The Timaru Egg Marketing Notice No. 3† is revoked as on the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette.

  3. Canterbury Co-operative Distributors, Limited, a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1933, and having its registered office at Christchurch, is hereby declared to be an authorized distributor for the purposes of the Timaru Egg Marketing Notice No. 2†.

  4. The address for business of the authorized distributor hereby appointed is at the premises known as the Timaru Egg Floor, situate at Brown Street in the Borough of Timaru.

The Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943, Amendment No. 4

PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Emergency Regulations 1945,* the Minister of Marketing doth hereby give notice as follows:-

  1. This notice may be cited as the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943, Amendment No. 4, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1943† (hereinafter referred to as the principal scheme).

  2. Clause (6) of the principal scheme is hereby amended by transferring that portion of Zone No. 1 consisting of Queen Street, between Cambridge Street and Winchester Street, from Harold Barnard Cuff to D'Arcy Arthur Henderson, Dairyman, Levin.
