Authorizing William Alexander Russ, of Whangamomona, Garage-proprietor, to Erect Electric Lines in and About the Township of Whangamomona, and Revoking an Existing Order in Council

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of November, 1948
Present:

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize William Alexander Russ, of Whangamomona, Garage-proprietor (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto subject to the following conditions; and, further, with the consent of the licensee and of William Alfred Lambert Wilson, of Stratford, Motor Mechanic, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the Gazette on the sixteenth day of the same month at page 3070, authorizing William James Dippie, of Whangamomona, Motor Engineer, to erect certain electric lines, the rights, powers, and privileges under which Order in Council were assigned to the licensee and the said William Alfred Lambert Wilson.

CONDITIONS

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS
    The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  2. LICENCE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
    The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

  3. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
    The system of supply shall be classified under paragraph (j) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be a two-wire direct-current system at 110 volts.

  4. DURATION OF LICENCE
    Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1960, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.

  5. CHARGES ON SALE
    (1) The charge for electrical energy supplied for all purposes shall not exceed 1s. per unit for the first twenty units used in each calendar month, and 9d. per unit for all units in excess of twenty used in each calendar month.
    (2) Notwithstanding the foregoing provision, the licensee may make a minimum charge of 12s. 6d. per calendar month.
    (3) Payment shall not be demanded from any consumer at intervals apart of less than twenty-one days.

SCHEDULE
LINES adapted for the supply of electrical energy as prescribed in these presents in and about the Township of Whangamomona, in the County of Whangamomona, within a radius of two miles from the licensee's generating station, situated in Section 9, Block I, Mahoe Survey District, in the Land District of Taranaki, the lines at present proposed to be used being more particularly delineated by means of blue lines and black lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 58, deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department.

Appointing Trustee for the Management of the Jetty and Shed at Karitane, Waikouaiti River

At the Government House at Wellington, this 3rd day of November, 1948

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
Whereas by Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-first day of the same month at page 348, the management of the jetty and shed at Karitane, Waikouaiti River, was vested in Laurence Murray Fraser, Oliff Edward Johnston, and John Steven, as trustees for the fishermen of the district;

And whereas Laurence Murray Fraser has left the district, and it is desirable to appoint some person to act with the trustees already appointed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Appointing Trustee for the Control of Part of the Foreshore at Karitane, Waikouaiti River

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and published in the Gazette on the sixth day of the following month at page 765, Laurence Murray Fraser, John Steven, and Oliff Edward Johnston were appointed trustees for the fishermen of the district for the control of part of the foreshore at Karitane, Waikouaiti River:
And whereas the said Laurence Murray Fraser has left the district, and it is desirable to appoint some person in his place to act with the trustees already appointed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £5,020 by the North Canterbury Catchment Board and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the North Canterbury Catchment Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, to borrow the sum of five thousand and twenty pounds (£5,020), by a loan to be known as "Plant Loan No. 2, 1948" (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of purchasing plant:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of five thousand and twenty pounds (£5,020), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:-
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall be eight (8) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual instalments extending over the term as determined in (1) above.
(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.
