FIFTH SCHEDULE
MANGAHAO RIDING, PAHIATUA COUNTY
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Pahiátua County, bounded, commencing at the south-western corner of Section 13, Block XIX, Mangahao Survey District, in a north-easterly direction generally along the western boundary of Pahiátua County, hereinbefore described, to the middle of Manawatu River; thence southeasterly generally along the northern boundary of Pahiátua County to a point bearing 360° true from the westernmost corner of Section 19A, Block IV, Mangahao Survey District; thence along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 19A aforesaid; thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 146, Block III, Mangahao Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 146, 145, and 144, Block III, Mangahao Survey District, across Manga-tainoka North Road, along the northern boundary of Section 141 and the eastern boundaries of Sections 140, 139, 135, 134, 132, 131, Block III, Mangahao Survey District, to and along Mangatainoka Central Road to its junction with the Palmerston North - Pahiátua Road (Mangahao Road); thence along the last-mentioned road to and along the Wellington-Woodville Railway to the southern-most corner of Section 15, Block VII, Mangahao Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along the southern boundary of Section 15 aforesaid, across a public road, and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 13 and 26, the eastern, southern, and south-western boundaries of Section 14, Block VII, Mangahao Survey District, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 6I, Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District; thence to and along the south-western boundary of Section 61 aforesaid and along the south-western boundaries of Section 60, Block VII, and Sections 75, 76, and 77, Block VI, Mangahao Survey District, to and along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 13, Block XIX, Mangahao Survey District, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section, the point of commencement.

Proclaiming the Borough of Timaru to be a City

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS a request has been received from the Timaru Borough Council that the Borough of Timaru be proclaimed a city under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933: And whereas the population of the said borough is not less than twenty thousand : And whereas it is desirable that effect should be given to the said request:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-four of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, do hereby proclaim the Borough of Timaru to be a city.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of November, 1948.

Crown Land Set Apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-ROTORUA CONSERVANCY
ALL those areas in the Auckland Land District, Taupo County, containing by admeasurement 2,054 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Section 1, Block XI, and Section 1, Block XII, Waitahanui Survey District. As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 54/13, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Auckland plan S.O. 33750.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of November, 1948.

A PROCLAMATION

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, Marlborough County, containing by admeasurement 1,670 acres, more or less, being Section 2, Block III, and Section 3, Block VII, Heringa Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 103/22, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Nelson plan S.O. 983.)

Land Reserved Under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Whangarei situated in Blocks I and II, Mangawai Survey District, containing by admeasurement 113 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or less, being Allotment 534, Parish of Waipu. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 26/27835, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plan S.O. 33413.)

Revoking the Reservation Over Portion of a Scenic Reserve in the North Auckland Land District

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for scenic purposes : And whereas the said land is no longer suitable for scenic purposes by reason of the absence of bush of scenic value thereon: Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby revoke the reservation for scenic purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Whangarei, situated in Block I, Mangawai Survey District, containing by admeasurement 26 acres 3 roods 25 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 452, Parish of Waipu. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 26/27835A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plan S.O. 33413.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of November, 1948.
