Altering Boundaries of Kairanga and Pahiatua Counties and Including Areas in Fitzherbert Riding, Kairanga County, and Mangahao Riding, Pahiatua County

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section fourteen of the Counties Act, 1920, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that those areas described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Kairanga County, shall be added to and form part of the Pahiatua County; that those areas described in the Second Schedule hereto, being now part of the Pahiatua County, shall be added to and form part of the Kairanga County; that the boundaries of the Kairanga and Pahiatua Counties as so altered shall be those set forth under the respective headings in the Third Schedule hereto; that those areas added as aforesaid to the Kairanga County shall be included in the Fitzherbert Riding of the said county; that the boundaries of the said Fitzherbert Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Fourth Schedule hereto; that those areas added as aforesaid to the Pahiatua County shall be included in the Mangahao Riding of the said county; that the boundaries of the Mangahao Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Fifth Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM KAIRANGA COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN PAHIATUA COUNTY

ALL those areas in the Wellington Land District, Kairanga County, comprised and described in the list hereunder :—

All more particularly delineated on a plan numbered 21556, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

SECOND SCHEDULE
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM PAHIATUA COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN KAIRANGA COUNTY

ALL those areas in the Wellington Land District, Pahiatua County, comprised and described in the list hereunder :—

All more particularly delineated on a plan numbered 21556, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

THIRD SCHEDULE
KAIRANGA COUNTY

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north-east generally by the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway-line from the middle of the Oroua River to the Bunnythorpe – Stoney Creek Road; thence by that road to the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 41 and 30, Block VIII, Kairanga Survey District; thence by the last-mentioned road to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the latter section; thence by the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 20, Block VIII aforesaid, to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 411 to Te Wi Native Reserve; thence along the western and northern boundaries of that reserve to the Manawatu River; thence by a right line across that river to the middle of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 254 and 253, Block XII, Kairanga Survey District, and by a line along the middle of that road to the southernmost corner of Subdivision 34, Manchester Block; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 34, 33, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2, Ferry Reserve, and Subdivisions 50 and 49, to the Manawatu River; thence by a line along the middle of the Manawatu River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block I, Mangahao Survey District; thence to and along the western boundary of Section 1 aforesaid and its production to the eastern side of Range Road North; thence in a general south-westerly direction along the eastern side of Range Road North to its intersection with the south-western boundary of part Subdivision 3 of Section 26, Block II, Mangahao Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of Subdivision 3 of Section 26 to the northernmost corner of Section 2, Block II, Mangahao Survey District; thence along the eastern side of the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 10, Block II, Mangahao Survey District, to and along Range Road North, across the Palmerston North – Pahiatua Road, and along the eastern side of Range Road South to the south-western corner of Section 13, Block XIX, Mangahao Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 13 aforesaid, the north-western boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 3, Block VI, and Section 4, Block V, Mangahao Survey District, and the abutment of Marima Ridge Road to the north-western corner of Section 9, Block IX, Mangahao Survey District; thence along a right line to Marima Trig. Station; thence along a right line to Arawaru Trig. Station; thence north-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 315, Block VIII, Arawaru Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 315, 316, 317, and 318, Block VIII aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western boundaries of Section 318, Block VIII, Sections 319, 320, and 333, Block VI, Arawaru Survey District, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the north-western boundary of Section 333 aforesaid to the public road forming the northern boundary of the said Section 333; thence north-westerly along a right line to Mangawarawara Trig. Station at the easternmost corner of Tuwhakatupua No. 1A Block, as shown on plan W.D. 890, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Tuwhakatupua No. 1A aforesaid to the Manawatu River; thence to and along the middle of the Manawatu River to its confluence with the Oroua River; thence up the middle of the Oroua River to the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway-line, the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the City of Palmerston North.

PAHIATUA COUNTY

All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 43, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of said Section 43 to the summit of the Puketoi Range; thence along the summit of the Puketoi Range to Puketoi Trig. Station; thence along a right line from Puketoi Trig. Station to the north-eastern corner of Section 61, Block VIII, Mangaone Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of Sections 61, 62, 63, 64, and 65, Block VIII aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 65 and that boundary produced to the middle of the Tiraumea River; thence down the middle of the Tiraumea River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 175, Block VIII aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary to Pa Valley Road; thence along Pa Valley Road to the Mangaone Valley Road, across that road, and along the southern boundary of Section 16, Block IV, Mangaone Survey District, to the Mangaone Stream; thence up that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 30A, Block IV aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Sections 30 and 27, Block III, Mangaone Survey District, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 33, Block III aforesaid, to its southernmost corner; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 33 and 4A to Mount Heale; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 3, 4, and 5, Block III aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 5, 1A, and 1 to the Makakahi River; thence along a right line to Arawaru Trig. Station; thence north-easterly generally along the boundary of Kairanga County, hereinbefore described, to the middle of Manawatu River; thence up the middle of the Manawatu River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 5, Block I, Makuri Survey District; thence along the boundary of the Wellington Land District to the western side of the Rabbit-fence Reserve at the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block III, Makuri Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of that reserve to the western boundary of Section 13, Block III, Makuri Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the northern boundary of the land on Plan 4376, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence easterly and north-easterly along that boundary to the Rabbit-fence Reserve; thence along the southern and eastern sides of that reserve to the boundary of the Wellington Land District, and along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 43, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District, the point of commencement; and excluding therefrom the Borough of Pahiatua.

FOURTH SCHEDULE
FITZHERBERT RIDING, KAIRANGA COUNTY

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded on the north, east, and south generally by the Kairanga County boundary hereinbefore described, and on the north-west by the Manawatu River.
