office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged
pink.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions
of clause (l) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they
relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the
persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply:
A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to any one of the persons described in Column l of the
Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor
in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the
respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule,
but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen
years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

    Defining Bay of Islands River and Extended River Limits
    WHEREAS it is desirable that the limits for the Bay of Islands
    be amended:
    Now, therefore, I, Frederick Hackett, Minister of Marine, in
    pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 189
    of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, do hereby revoke all Warrants
    defining the said limits, and do hereby define the following limits in
    substitution thereof:
    RIVER LIMITS
    Inside of a line drawn from the eastern point of Wairoa Bay
    to the western end of Urupukapuka via north-eastern end of eastern
    Black Rock, northern ends of Motuarohia, Moturua, Motukiakia,
    and a line from Urupukapuka opposite Round Island to western
    end of Richards Peninsula.
    EXTENDED RIVER LIMITS
    Inside of a line drawn from the eastern extremity of Cape
    Wiwiki in a 000° direction for 0·5 miles ; thence 094° for 11 miles ;
    thence to Cape Brett.
    SEASONAL
    (For vessels engaged in deep-sea sports-fishing only)
    From 1st May to 3lst October : Inside an arc of a circle of
    13 miles radius drawn with Cape Brett Lighthouse as centre and a
    line drawn 090° to the circle from southern point of Whangamumu
    entrance.
    From 1st November to 30th April : Inside an arc of a circle of
    20 miles radius drawn with Cape Brett Lighthouse as centre and
    a line drawn 090° to the circle from southern point of Whangamumu
    entrance.

    Redefining a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area
    PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1947, the
    Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority
    of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto
    are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for
    the marketing of bobby calves, doth hereby declare such area of
    land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Area for
    the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the
    said Schedule, and doth hereby further declare that this notice shall
    take effect on the 11th day of November, 1948.
    SCHEDULE
    Te Awamutu Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area
    ALL that area of land lying within the Waikato, Waipa, Kawhia,
    Raglan, and Otorohanga Counties, and bounded by a line com-
    mencing at the point where the boundaries of the Raglan and
    Kawhia Counties meet on the shore of the Aotea Harbour, being
    in the south-western portion of Block XIV, Karioi Survey District ;
    thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the
    Kawhia County to the Tahuanui Trig., located in the eastern
    portion of Block II, Pirongia Survey District ; thence in a straight
    line across country in a north-easterly direction to the north-
    western corner of Section 339, Block III, Pirongia Survey District ;
    thence in a north-easterly direction along the southern boundaries
    of Sections 336, 335, 334, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, and 61, Block XV,
    Alexandra Survey District, to the south-western corner of the said
    Section 61 ; thence in a northerly direction along the western
    boundaries of Sections 64, 65, 66, 67, Block XV, Alexandra Survey
    District, to the western corner of the said Section 67 ; thence in a
    north-easterly direction along the northern boundary of the said
    Section 67 to the eastern boundary of Block XV, Alexandra Survey
    District ; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary
    of the said Block X to the south-western corner of Section 98,
    Block XVI, Alexandra Survey District ; thence in an easterly
    direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 98, and Part
    179, Block XV, Alexandra Survey District, to the western bank of
    the Waipa River ; thence continuing in an easterly direction across
    the Waipa River to the mouth of the Mangaotama Stream ; thence
    following the southern bank of the said stream upstream to the
    northern corner of Section 360, Block IX, Hamilton Survey District ;
    thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern
    boundaries of Sections 362, 363, and 365, Block IX, Hamilton
    Survey District, to the eastern corner of the said Section 365 ;
    thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of
    Sections 383 and 382, Block IX, Hamilton Survey District, to the
    north-western corner of the said Section 382 ; thence in an easterly
    direction along the northern boundaries of Sections 382 and 381,
    Block IX, Hamilton Survey District, to the north-eastern corner
    of the said Section 381 ; thence in a northerly direction along the
    western boundaries of Sections 340, 339, 338, 337, 336, 335, 334,
    and 352, Blocks IX and X, Hamilton Survey District, to the north-
    western corner of the said Section 352 ; thence in an easterly
    direction along the northern boundaries of Sections 352, 333, and
    317, Block X, Hamilton Survey District, to the Main Trunk
    Railway ; thence in a southerly direction along the said railway to
    the south-western corner of Section 316, Block X, Hamilton Survey
    District ; thence in an easterly direction along the southern
    boundaries of Sections 316, 315, 314, Block X, Hamilton Survey
    District, to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 314 ; thence
    in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 314,
    Block X, Hamilton Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of
    the said Section 314 ; thence in an easterly direction along the
    southern boundaries of Sections 362, 301, and 302, Block X, Hamil-
    ton Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of the said Section
    302 ; thence in a straight line across country in a south-easterly
    direction to the south-eastern corner of Section 188, Block X,
    Hamilton Survey District ; thence in a generally easterly direction
    along the southern boundaries of Sections 187, 186, 185, 184, 183,
    182, and 164, Block XI, Hamilton Survey District, to the south-
    eastern corner of the said Section 164 ; thence in a northerly
    direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 164, 163, and
    D.P. 10092, Block XI, Hamilton Survey District, to the north-
    eastern corner of the said section D.P. 10092 ; thence in an easterly
    direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 70, 71, 72, 73,
