Child Welfare Act, 1925.—Revoking Appointments of Child Welfare Officers

IN pursuance of the power vested in me by the Child Welfare Act, 1925, I, Terence Henderson McCombs, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that on account of the undermentioned persons having ceased to be members of the Education Department their appointments as Child Welfare Officers made under section 2 of the said Act have been revoked as from the date hereof:—

Appointment of Honorary Officers

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, Frederick Hackett, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint the persons named in the following Schedule to be Honorary Officers for the acclimatization district shown in such Schedule for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, such persons to hold office until the 31st March, 1950.

George Meredith Hart
to be an Examiner in Sight Tests for the purposes of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, on and from the 1st day of October, 1948.

Alonzo George Edgar Beal
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Bluff for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Bluff for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Act, 1926, on and from the 20th day of September, 1948.

Modifying Exemption Under the Import Control Regulations 1938

Office of the Minister of Customs,
Wellington, 4th October, 1948.

PURSUANT to clause 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938, the Minister of Customs doth hereby withdraw the exemption from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations contained in the notice under the said clause 15 dated the 7th day of December, 1938, and published in the Gazette on the 8th day of December, 1938, so far only as it relates to goods described as follows, namely—

“Bona fide gifts,”

and in lieu thereof doth hereby exempt from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations the following goods, namely:—

Goods, or such classes of goods, as may be approved by the Minister, being bona fide gifts sent from abroad to persons in New Zealand.

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.
